Earlier this year, in August, my mom invited me to join her at Solea in Bohol, where their work program was held. With the approval of her work department, how could I say no? It was a great opportunity to explore new places, especially in Bohol.
We started our journey from Cebu Pier 1, booking a ferry to reach the Port of Tagbilaran in Bohol. They mentioned two ports to reach the resort: Tubigon and Tagbilan Port. Among the two ports available for Panglao Island, Tagbilaran Port is the closest to the resort.
Arriving at almost 6 pm at the port, we were fortunate as my mom's colleagues had a rented car. With smooth traffic, laughter, and music in the car, we enjoyed our night trip.
It was around 7 pm when we arrived at the resort. The front of the resort welcomed us warmly, setting the tone for what was to come.
The resort's interior was spacious, and I was impressed with how they consistently built it with eco-friendly materials. I really liked how they maintained the design, emphasizing beach motifs. It just exuded a beach vibe and radiated a well-lit ambiance.
Since it was already evening, our travel journey had left us famished. We went straight upstairs to their conference room, where dinner was served. This is what my mom and I had for dinner. The food was superb that I had to ask the standby servers who cooked it all and complimented them.
The next morning, we had a great start sitting on the balcony and appreciating the beautiful view and sunrise.
As the morning grew brighter, I couldn't help but appreciate the surroundings: the sound of roosters serving as our alarm clocks and the area filled with coconut trees, so green and refreshing. It just felt so peaceful compared to the bustling city of Cebu. I had a wonderful morning simply looking around the balcony and feeling the wind on my face.
After I ate and enjoyed my breakfast, I checked out the pool, which was being cleaned. However, I had a better glimpse of the coast from there. Sadly, I couldn't take a dip because I had just recently gotten my hair rebonded. Yeah, it was a shame.
I was greeted by these adorable dogs at the coast, seemingly welcoming me in exchange for pets and belly rubs as I was enjoying the fresh air and the feeling of the sand under my feet. And, I was amazed by the dog in the left picture at how white her teeth were. She had teeth as white as pearls!
I only took a shower that day while my mom happily swam in the pool. Just look at her big smile in these pictures I took.
As we roamed around the resort, we learned about an island nearby called Virgin Island, accessible only by boat. And as we asked more about it, a boatman said it is recommended to have many companions to share the cost for the island hopping. Also, he said that there are dolphins there.
Unfortunately, we couldn't visit due to our limited time and we had to go home early the next day. However, if we could go back again to Solea, I wouldn't miss the opportunity. Exploring Virgin Island would be my top priority.
It was an unforgettable August visit. Although our stay was brief— just two nights — every aspect, from the resort's amenities to the delicious food and warmth of the people, made it an unforgettable experience.
When we got home, the memories stayed fresh in our minds, and they still do. The peace we felt at Solea in Bohol is incomparable and holds a special place in our hearts.
Thank you for reading my blog! Merry Christmas! I wish you all endless travels, adventures and enjoyable experiences ahead. Until next time, sweeties!
