Hello Hivers,
I went on a hike with my friend last week to Hampta-Sethan valley. It was a clear sunny day and we decided that we were gonna take my pet 'Phoebe" too. We were expecting a lot of tourists there but luckily, there was barely anyone. I was happy but sad at the same time. I was feeling bad for the local shopkeepers who were sitting there unoccupied.
We parked our car at the last point and started walking to the meadows. I have been to Hampta so many times but this time I wanted to try a different route. I was curious about the river coming from the top. I wanted to go further to the top and see if there is a good spot or not. We wanted to shoot a small video of cooking food.
My decision was correct. We ended up at a place where I automatically said "Perfect". It was a meadow near the river and the river was flowing from the top of the valley and we could see the top of the mountains and we could see the last point where the trees were. It was a perfect place and the weather was with us as well. Everything was so bright and colorful.
Phoebe was very happy too. She was just running all over the place and I could see the smile on her face.
Let me give you some details about this valley. It is actually a pass between two districts of Himachal Pradesh. Hampta is located in Manali and you can reach here by going on Manali-Naggar road. There is a link road from a place called Prini and from where it is almost 8-10 KMs offroad trail to the end point. In between you can find a couple of food points with a great view of Manali.
Hampta pass is a 3 days track to Chhatru (Manali-Spiti Road). This track is good for summer time but if you are an expert mountaineer then you can do it during winters as well.
Well, that is all in this blog. I hope you enjoyed reading about my little hike story.
See you in the next blog.
Namaste.
