Hello, Hivers.😀 Rej here and I am finally back for another Rejourney . Living in a province hits different most especially when a place feels like you are having a vacation every time that you are here. And yes I am talking about Argao, Cebu, Philippines, my beloved hometown.
Argao, Philippines is a first class Municipality in the province of Cebu. It is known as one of the most interesting places in Cebu. Argao has around 45 Barangays and each of it has a different amazing spots to offer.
With the 45 Barangays that composed the Municipality of Argao, our humble home is the second Barangay once you enter the boundary of it. In our humble home, you could actually feel that you are in a vacation with its fresh air. Our place is also surrounded by a lot of trees and plants.
My family and relatives are so hardworking so we also have different fruit bearing plants around the area. My uncle also planted some sugarcane and that's me right there enjoying its sweet taste.
Just few steps away from our humble home in Talo-ot, Argao, Cebu, there are 2 cold springs that could be found. Imagine having this feels like having a swimming pool at home. We call this Liki Spring and Talisay Spring. What makes this spring unique is that aside from the fact that anyone could take a bath here, there's also a portion here where you could get some drinking water and a portion wherein anyone could wash some clothes. This place doesn't require for any entrance fee to the tourist until now and that's also one of the reasons that a lot of people from different places continues to flock here. I really enjoyed my time here with my cousins and friends. We also brought some food to eat.
When you talk about Talo-ot, Argao, Cebu, that's also where you could find the famous destination called 300 steps. We call this as 300 steps because there's 300 steps of stairs located in the mountains and when you reach the top of it, you could witness this spectacular view above with its overlooking view of Bohol Island as well. Look at those unfiltered sunrise! 😍 It's so beautiful! I enjoyed my morning hike right here with my grandmother, cousins and siblings. It just feels great to live in a place like this wherein every destination is just within our reach.
Our place is also blessed with a seaside park and we call this as Talo-ot Seaside Park. This place is just so perfect for jogging, family gatherings and other recreational activities. Both sunrise and sunset looks really great here. This has also a port with route going to Bohol, Island. This view is just few minutes walk away from where our house was located. This is just so good for my mental health.
Aside from the beautiful mountains in our hometown, we are so blessed as well that we are just few minutes away from the ocean and we can enjoy the beach anytime and as much as we want to. We are blessed that our family now owns a pumped boat after so many years of sacrifices. My father is a fisherman and my mother is a fish vendor and it just feels so great that God is blessing us a lot of things now after all the struggles in the past that we've been through.
The time with my family is just something I would cherish forever. We are so grateful for this amazing view right here.
Our place in Talo-ot, Argao, Cebu is also abundant with fresh catch seafoods. I am always a proud daughter of a fisherman and fish vendor. When you happen to visit our place, you could really experience the amazing life that we have there. During my rest days at work, I also help my parents with our small fish business when I am in our province.
To complete your Argao adventure, I suggest that you should also visit our famous church which is the St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church. It is a Roman Catholic church in the Municipality of Argao.
San Miguel Arcangel Church of Argao is a beautiful church built as Baroque Rococo structure. This church is built adjacent to the Argao Town Plaza and other heritage structures such as the Casa Real, Capilla Mortuario, Paso or Way of the Cross wall, and Hall of Justice building.
The Argao church is typical of other Spanish colonial churches in the Philippines. This is shown through its vaulted wooden ceiling that covers a simple nave and a transept that gives it a cruciform shape.
If you want to spend some quality time with your family, Argao plaza is definitely one of the places to be. You can really feel the fresh air in this area. If you are an adult already, you could still feel like a kid again whenever you're here with its different activities to do.
To capped this incredible Argao experience, here's an amazing view of the sunset right here in our amazing hometown. It is such a blessing to live in this kind of place. If you happen to visit the Southern part of Cebu one of these days, I suggest that you should include Argao to be part of your bucket list.
That's it for today's Rejourney. I am so glad that I was able to share with you the beauty of our hometown. I will see you all on my next one. Stay safe!
