" Our Home Compostela "
Last Holiday season we saw a lot of sparkling and shining decorations in the streets, offices, houses, parks, and shopping malls. It is one of the highlights of every year-end season where we dress up our places, and Christmas trees into dazzling ones to feel the spirit of Christmas.
This time in my blog I will bring you to a town that transformed its simple Municipal Building into an extravagant creation. Through the lights, props, and other decorations they put up, the building area became an instant sensation, especially at night when the lighting was turned on. Come, Let's visit Compostela Cebu, Philippines.
Compostela Cebu
This town is a 3rd class municipality located in the northern part of Cebu province. It has an estimated area of 53.9 square kilometers. The town proper is suited in the coastal area of the island that is 25 kilometers away from Cebu City.
It is one of the booming towns in the province. I can justify this one even though I'm not a resident of this place 😂. This is my first assigned town for my work last 2019. I have been staying here for six months in 2019 and to tell you it is one of the simple and silent towns I stayed in Cebu. Then when I came back last 2022 to work again in this place, I saw a huge difference and development from a few years ago. From the structures, establishments, restaurants, and even activities in this town. It is a kind of progressive, salute to the government who work hard to make this happen.
One of the things they elevate is the Tousrism of the town. The development they created lately is making their Municipal building into a tourist attraction, which I think they nailed it.
They put up bright and colorful lighting around the building and its vicinity. They put some parols and colorful mini houses that children love to explore. They create stars Christmas trees and angels that make the municipal area into a Christmas village.
I love how they combined the neon colors of the houses, it makes the area brighter and more attractive. The designer of lights and how they craft into a design that relates to the motto of the municipality. They have a good designer.
If you bring your family, children, and partner to this place, for sure they will love here. The place has an open garden area, where you can sit down and have a picnic while enjoying the lighting. The Children can play around and have fun.
Foods and Snacks
Visiting a place, one thing we consider Filipino is the Food, where we can eat and find good food for our family. In the Municipal Building of Compostela, you don't need to worry about it. The municipality built a food park beside the town hall for visitors to visit the place.
Theirs a lot of food stalls where you can dine in or take out food. They have barbeques, porkstakes, Sisig, and other Filipino Foods. Theirs a lot of snacks around such as quick-quick, japanese cake, Iced coffee, fries, and others.
How to reach this place.
The Municipal Building of Compostela is located in the Poblacion of the town beside the national road going to the northern part of Cebu province. It's not hard to find cause its dazzling lights will catch your attention when passing by the area. For sure passers going to Cebu North always notice this sparkling building in Compostela.
If you are in Cebu City, you will travel for one hour of estimated time to reach the town. You can ride a bus or jeep from Cebu City going to North. It will only cost you one dollar for the fare, Or you can ride a private vehicle, just pin Compostela Municipal Building in the map to guide you the way. By the way theirs no entrance fee here it's open to the public.
This area in Compostela became lively when the Municipal Building lighting started. It became a go-to place for nearby residents for their family bonding and quality time. I love to visit here late at night cause theirs a few people already and less of a crowd.
