The Aula Magna of the Universidad Central de Venezuela
The University City of Caracas is a spectacular university campus located in the heart of the capital city, since 2000 has been recognized by UNESCO as intangible heritage of humanity, taking as a reference the criteria 2 and 4. La Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas es un espectacular recinto universitario ubicado en el corazón de la ciudad capital, desde el año 2000 goza del reconocimiento otorgado por la UNESCO como patrimonio intangible de la humanidad, tomando como referencia Los criterios 2 y 4. En sus más de 160 hectáreas (el triple de la Ciudad del Vaticano) podemos encontrar una gran cantidad de espacios que se destacan por su belleza, su arte y sus características únicas, pero sin duda alguna el recinto más especial y sublime es el Aula Magna.

El Aula Magna de la universidad central de Venezuela es el espacio más sagrado de este recinto, ya que en ella confluyen muchos sentimientos y muchas características importantes, con 2700 butacas este auditorio es sin duda alguna el más grande de toda la ciudad universitaria, por lo tanto, el espacio por excelencia para la realización de actos de grado y demás de otros eventos de gran importancia, como resultado con el pasar de los años se ha convertido en un símbolo del éxito académico, ya que todos los egresados a esta ilustre casa de estudios día de clases sueñan con el momento de estar subiendo las escaleras de ese escenario para recibir su merecido título de las manos del rector o rectora de turno, pero al ser la Universidad Central de Venezuela la institución más prodigiosa y preeminente del país cursar sus carreras es una tarea paz que conlleva muchos sacrificios y una gran dedicación que obligan a la excelencia plena, por lo tanto, todos los que ingresan no siempre logran finalizar su recorrido universitario y es por esta razón que los que llegamos a este punto y entramos triunfantes al aula magna nos sentimos profundamente emocionados al vivir esa experiencia.

Todos los recorridos turísticos realizados por la Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas normalmente incluyen al Aula Magna en los puntos a visitar, pues se trata de un espacio diseñado por el célebre arquitecto Carlos Raúl Villanueva en dónde se puede afirmar que se cumple a plenitud su proyecto de síntesis de las artes mayores, ya que en este auditorio convergen, una exquisita arquitectura, excelentes piezas artísticas, un gran valor académico y grandes avances tecnológicos, los cual hacen de este escenario un verdadero espectáculo que vale la pena conocer.
The interior of the hall is quite simple, it is an auditorium with white walls, multiple ceiling lights that can change their color from white to yellow depending on the occasion, side lights, a powerful air conditioning system, and the jewel in the crown is its excellent acoustics, This is the result of a multiplicity of elements that are found inside the room, where we can highlight this Calder, which consist of wooden structures in veneer that are floating on the ceiling and walls of the room, but are not there at random, but are perfectly calibrated to improve the acoustics and generate an amazing atmosphere, as an anecdotal fact this work was made by the American artist Alexander Calder and its installation was carried out while on stage a philharmonic orchestra played live, to ensure and test the exact position that should have each piece, in addition to this exquisite and creative solution the acoustics is also improved by a terracotta floor covered by special carpets, The seats that close when empty simulating the natural weight of a human being and elaborated with elements to the healthy distribution of sound and finally the double doors of the room allow this to be one of the few in Venezuela that has the ability to have a total silence.
El interior de la sala es bastante sencillo, se trata de un auditorio de paredes blancas, múltiples luminarias en el techo que pueden cambiar su color de blanco a amarillo según la ocasión, luminarias laterales, un potente sistema de aire acondicionado, y la Joya de la corona es su excelente acústica, la cual es el resultado de una multiplicidad de elementos que se encuentran dentro de la sala, En donde podemos destacar este Calder, las cuales consisten en estructuras de madera en chapada que se encuentran flotando, en el techo y paredes de la sala, pero no se encuentran allí al azar, sino que están perfectamente calibradas para mejorar la acústica y generar un ambiente alucinante, como dato anecdótico esta obra fue hecha por el artista estadounidense Alexander Calder y su instalación se llevó a cabo mientras en el escenario una orquesta filarmónica tocaba en vivo, para de esta forma garantizar y probar la posición exacta que debía tener cada pieza, además de esta exquisita y creativa solución la acústica también se ve mejor por un piso de terracota cubierto por alfombras especiales, butacas que se cierran al estar vacías simulando el peso natural de un ser humano y elaborada con elementos a la sana distribución del sonido y para finalizar las dobles puertas de la sala permiten que esta sea una de las pocas en Venezuela que cuenta con la capacidad de tener un silencio total.

La energía que se siente dentro del Aula Magna de la Universidad Central de Venezuela es realmente única y muy poderosa, es un espacio que por sí solo tiene una vida propia, es un área que cuando está repleta de gente vibra al son de lo que esté sucediendo en el escenario, pero cuando se queda vacía y podemos disfrutar de su silencio nos transmite una enorme dosis de sentimientos y recuerdos, es así como al caminar por sus espacios podemos sentir en carne propia el latir de millones de corazones que han pasado por allí y en visto sus sueños cumplidos. Además en este escenario se han presentado personajes de talla mundial como por ejemplo: Fidel Castro, Igor Stravinsky, Marcel Marceau, Pablo Neruda, Louis Armstrong, Montserrat Caballé o la Orquesta Sinfónica de Moscú, quienes con sus peculiaridades han dejado una huella indeleble en el ambientes de este magnifico lugar.

Pero si nos queda alguna duda de la belleza de este lugar también vale la pena recorrer sus espacios exteriores, los cuales son realmente lindos, pues allí podemos encontrar contrastes superinteresantes, en donde se destacan los apliques en madera de las taquillas y puertas que le regalan un tono vivo y cálido a todo el espacio, pero que chocan de forma perfecta con un tono gris y frío emanado del granito del piso y del concreto armado de paredes rampas y columnas, es increíble ver como en algunos sitios se deja el acabado brutalista mientras que en otros se aplica la pintura y el maquillaje, es de esta forma como la robustez del cemento se ve aliviada con la finesa del metal, mientras que la luz natural y el aire puro circulan de forma armónica regalándonos un ambiente tranquilo.

Pero cuando nos alejamos aún más y vemos A toda esta estructura desde lejos podemos darnos cuenta de que la magia no termina, sino que desde un punto de vista Macro también nos encontramos con detalles únicos, tomando como punto de partida una vista aérea nos podemos dar cuenta de que la estructura del aula magna consiste en un gran edificio de concreto, cuyo exterior se encuentra bella y exquisitamente adornado con formas aletas y elementos realizados a partir del mismo concreto, lo cual no sirve solo como puntos decorativos, sino que son parte esencial de la estructura, lo que hace de este tipo de construcciones una verdadera obra de arte y una pieza arquitectónica única en el mundo, en este recinto el arquitecto estudió todos los elementos posibles, aquí nada quedó al azar, Por lo cual es posible admirar una perfecta sincronía entre elementos ambientales y arquitectónicos, los árboles que circulan el lugar fueron sembrados de forma planificada, lo cual hoy en día genera un ambiente que rompe paradigmas, es de esta forma como a pesar de la grandeza y robustez de los edificios estos están en concordancia con el verdor la opulencia y la frescura de la naturaleza que nos rodea.

Visitar el Aula Magna en la Ciudad Universitaria de Caracas, es darse un paseo por la historia, es admirar la arquitectura en su máxima expresión, es disfrutar de piezas artísticas de Alexander Calder, Mateo Manaure, Víctor Vasarely, Francisco Narváez entre otros, por lo tanto, es un recorrido lleno de cultura y que nos brinda la oportunidad de disfrutar de una gran energía espiritual, es un espacio en donde la grandeza se mezcla con los sentimientos y en donde qué ha demostrado que el ser humano es capaz de realizar cosas increíbles. Mi paseo por estos espacios estuvo marcado por los recuerdos de acciones pasadas y por el entusiasmo de vivir nuevamente esta aventura, lo mejor de todo es que visitar este enclave es muy fácil, se puede acceder a través de la línea 3 del metro de Caracas en la estación Ciudad Universitaria, además cuenta con accesos viales a través de la autopista gran cacique hueca y puro, la avenida Minerva de los chaguaramos y el Paseo de los Símbolos, además por contar con una ubicación geográfica privilegiada se puede ir a pie fácilmente desde diversos puntos de la ciudad y dentro de los espacios de la universidad podremos encontrar una gran cantidad de servicios qué harán de nuestra estadía un momento cómodo, agradable y feliz.
