Such a beautiful slice from one corner of the famous Irrawaddy River... It stretches along the tip of Burma, Myanmar. It stretches and supports the surrounding the people. In fact, the view of every sunset or sunrise can bring joy to everyone fortunate to experience its so beauty.
Clean weather, cool breeze with no visible pollution, is what always see in Bagan City. Of course, this city is not the one with factories and busy centers, slow living is real. I can fill my lungs with clean air and the sun shines bright all day long. In fact, this morning was so clear that nothing could block the sun's rays.
I ridding my electric scooter along the Irrawaddy River and discovered beautiful spots. In fact, there were countless pagodas lined up among them. One of them was Lawkananda Pagoda. This place is where many Buddhists worship in Myanmar. With so many pagodas, does everyone worship in their own pagoda? I wondered what their religious system is like?
Lawkananda Pagoda was quite quiet, with almost no one in sight. Renovations were underway on a key part, specifically the stupa, the center of worship. It appeared the stupa was being replaced with a new one, perhaps painted or repaired, as I could see its golden color had faded and the underlying red was starting to show through. Many staff were working.
The temple has a distinct character. Even in front of the stupa, there are neat arranged rows of small candles. Right in front of that is a "gong" like instrument that can be struck and produces a very loud sound. The gong is about 3 meters tall and appears to be a crucial part of the structure.
The pagoda is quite large, but the overall feel of the temple is open and blends in with the surround environment, particular taking advantage of the beautiful views of the Irrawaddy River. This is a stark contrast to the temples I've shown you in other Bagan pagoda posts.
This is a must-visit temple (in my opinion) because it's so different. The open space, which takes advantage of the beauty of the Irrawaddy River, is one of the reasons why this place is a must-visit in Bagan.
Call me Isdarmady, sometimes Mady, Putra or anything you want. I have a pretty long name but call me very nicely. There are many things I like, especially hydroponics and coffee, sometimes I also like traveling and eating whatever I want. Life should be like that, there must be many things you like so you can live well. Of course, what you want is a dream, so, when you have a dream then what you have to do is to achieve that dream, don't just let it be a dream.
