Siem Riep is a small and beautiful city, but it seems that this city is very quiet and looks very orderly. Honestly, I can't compare it to the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, but this city is a city with historical sites that were even born before the capital itself.
After a day of wandering around the city of Siem Riep, I seemed to have no other time to spend before I would leave this city to the next destination. Of course, I wanted to know how Siem Riep was at night, like when I was in Da Lat, Bangkok and other cities.
I thought that this city was a city full of tourists every day, you can see many things around the city, it will be full of many people that you can find and they are not from Cambodia it seems. Even at the airport it is very obvious, where there are so many planes landing from all over the country.
I started my trip at night (before going to the bus station) and saw Phalla Night Market which is the biggest night market here. Similar to the night markets in Phuket and Bangkok, there are many brightly colored lights and it looks very beautiful. Decorating the banners and welcome monuments, it seems promising.
There are many people selling things, like clothes, bag, souvenir, gemstones, hat, and painting. If you wanna to buy clothes with the words 'Siem Reap, Angkor Wat, or Cambodia', you can easy get them at a cheap price too. Especially if you are an art lover in the form of paintings or sculptures, then you can get them very easy. Whether it's from the painter himself or printing.
There is not only one merchant, there are even dozens of merchants standing in this night market. However, there is one thing that I noticed like the crowds in this night market, it turned out to be quieter than I expected. Maybe because I saw a night market in Bangkok where it was even very difficult to get a step because it was too crowded, so I was very surprised. Where did all the tourists who came go?
Did I come too early? It could have happened, because I walked at 08.00 pm at the same time as looking for dinner. Or another thing, like feeling really tired because of walking and doing really hard activities while in the vast Angkor Wat? It could happen.
But, I think you should visit this night market to buy some souvenirs for yourself. Quite diverse with their own characteristics, the price is also relatively cheap.
Call me Isdarmady, sometimes Mady, Putra or anything you want. I have a pretty long name but call me very nicely. There are many things I like, especially hydroponics and coffee, sometimes I also like traveling and eating whatever I want. Life should be like that, there must be many things you like so you can live well. Of course, what you want is a dream, so, when you have a dream then what you have to do is to achieve that dream, don't just let it be a dream.
