Once I muttered a prayer when a history teacher explained about Angkor Wat and I said; ‘I want to go there (Angkor Wat) someday’. Those words have now become a reality. Every time I hear the country Cambodia, I just want to go there.
However, I never knew that Angkor Wat wasnt in the capital of Cambodia, but a different city. Angkor Wat which is in Siem Reap can be reach by bus for about 6 hours from Phnom Penh. But don’t worry, it turns out that Siem Reap has its own airport and is much better.
That morning in Siem Reap, I woke up at 04.00am and I was picked up by a tuk-tuk driver who had been booked from an application. He picked me up on that very cold morning and we drove to Angkor Wat. I took the time in the morning to enjoy the sunrise in front of Angkor Wat and this was an extraordinary opportunity.
Angkor Wat is truly magnificent even though it was still too dark to see the historical building. At 05.30 I had walked quite far to get to the courtyard right in front of a lake that could reflect light directly facing the Angkor Wat building.
The sun began to slowly emerge from behind the widening building, although the sun seemed to take a long time to rise but I hoped the sun at that time would slow down its speed because the extraordinary natural beauty that blended with the design of the Angkor Wat building was really very expensive to be enjoyed that morning.
Why can a temple building like Angkor Wat be so beautiful? It seems like they can design without the help of an architect and also a designer but uniquely it can be very beautiful in an era with minimal sophisticated technology. A building design that is not even eroded by time. A form of masterpiece that cannot be compared to anything. Do you think they made it without knowledge? I don't think so! They really take everything into account, so of course they have an expert in this field.
It is unthinkable that this building even faces West and is directly parallel to the sunrise. It can be said that they made it with all the magic and requires good instincts to be in harmony with nature. The splendor that can be said when seeing it all happen.
That morning, in the crowd of people who wanted to see the beautiful sunrise also became a great opportunity for me. Everyone wants to see this beauty by capturing the moment with their smartphones. Recording is the most certain thing, with a tripod and camera settings such as time-lapse mode, like watching the sun trying to run from below to above the earth.
Once again, at Angkor Wat you can choose to see the sunset and sunrise in one day visit. I will tell you more about Angkor Wat on another occasion!
