Hey there 👋
How are you doing?
I hope wherever you all are, you are doing well 💝
On November 14th, our journey through Varanasi began. From Lanka to Assi Ghat, we navigated through vibrant markets and shops adorned with garlands and unique conch shells.
The bustling ghats along the holy Ganga River were alive with people taking sacred baths.
Amidst the river's flow, numerous boats painted a picturesque scene. Coming from a mountainous background, the sight of so many boats excited me, prompting a photo spree.
We explored ghats and marveled at well-preserved ancient monuments, each telling a story of its own.
Post exploration, we settled at the Dolphin Restaurant. As we dined, we observed children applying tikka to devotees, a beautiful ritual believed to ward off difficulties.
Capturing the moment with tikka on my forehead, we resumed our exploration, stumbling upon a beautiful Lord Ganesha art at a guest house.
At Lalita Ghat, a magnificent boat and an ancient monument left me enchanted. The intricately designed windows, reminiscent of cinematic scenes, made it a surreal experience.
Our journey led us to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, also known as the Golden Temple, a sacred shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Varanasi's renowned silk sarees, the epitome of traditional attire in India, caught our attention.
Gate No. 01 of the temple stood grand, making me feel small in its presence. The craftsmanship on the gate left me astonished.
We have decided to return the next morning for a less crowded visit was unanimous.
Exploring monuments around the temple, we encountered a regal structure, capturing numerous pictures.
As we savored candy floss on the ghats, contemplating our next move, the day's memories lingered, etched in photographs and experiences.
Manikarnika Ghat, renowned for cremations, derives its name from the belief that goddess Sati's earrings fell here.
As this blog is becoming quite lengthy, I'll conclude here and continue my exploration of Varanasi in the next blog.
