Hi again my friends,
I'm IVy, I'm still on my way to enjoying every moment of my life. I hope you are too.
I read somewhere: You don't always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to breathe, trust, let go, and see what happens.
It reminds me of the trip to Da Lat with friends. A trip that brings back many good memories of youth.
Da Lat is a city located in the Lang Biang plateau, in the North of Lam Dong province. This is a very special city that is associated with the nickname "fog city" because every morning and evening the whole city is covered with a thick layer of fog, with street slopes wrapped around mountains and hills. The roof is covered with brown moss and green moss, sometimes there are wildflowers nestled on the roadside.
And this place is associated with the famous "specialty" which is the silvery green pine forest stretching on the hillside. Everything blends together to give me a special sense of peace that few cities have: peace and love.
And Da Lat is a place where all restless hearts, dreaming of dreams, come to live with abundant emotions, to reflect on the past, to fly with the space filled with memories. Everyone will come to this plateau with a different mood, but everyone seems to come to the silence in the sound of the pines, the luxury of wildflowers, and the mist that covers the mountains and hills.
It was a weekend in July, after the shift, we together took a bus to Da Lat, making a 2 day 1-night journey around this foggy city. The luggage of the tourists coming to this city is usually beautiful dresses and beautiful shoes to take pictures freely, and for us, the luggage is tents, sleeping bags, cooking utensils. Because we had great experiences with this beautiful city's pine hilltop camping plan.
After 10 hours of traveling, we had a long sleep on the bus. Around 4 am, we arrived at Dalat bus station. Da Lat welcomed us with a numbing cold of 14 degrees. We went to a homestay we contacted before to rent a motorbike and send our belongings. Da Lat is not like Da Nang, at 7 am people slowly open the shop. We rode motorbikes wandering through the small streets in the city center.
The first place we visited was Lam Vien Square. In the early morning, the atmosphere of the square is still quite quiet, on the street, there are a few people jogging and exercising, surrounded by vibrant colors of flowers, which is also the reason why Da Lat is known as the city of flowers.
Da Lat is not too large, with an area of only about 394.64 km², but it is enough to make you get lost if you only come 1 or 2 times. Especially the slopes will make you have to go around a few times because the junctions, 4-way intersections are usually located in the middle of the slope.
We wandered the cafes on the mountainside, enjoying the taste of the mountains in each drink, listening to the sound of the wind, and the faint scent of flowers. Everything was so peaceful and quiet.
At noon, we stopped at Léguda Buffet Vegetable Restaurant in Dalat. The food here is pretty amazing, along with the fresh greens, grown in this very city. And there is a special thing in this restaurant, you can eat vegetables as you like because the vegetables here are free.
In the afternoon, we left the city center behind and went down to the immense pine forest to fill our chests with fragrant green. About 10 km from the city center is Bo Bo pine hill, the place where we will camp overnight. The two sides of the road are lined with tall pine trees, it brings a feeling of coolness and excitement warmly to the heart.
At this moment, we really feel that the destination is no longer important, just see the sky is always deep blue even though hidden behind the clouds.
After an easy walk, we turned onto a rough, steep road. I was lucky enough to be in the back of a hard drives motorcycle so this road wasn't a problem for him.
Around 5:30 pm we arrived, we split up to set up tents, find firewood and cook. In order to save cooking time, we have prepared food in the city, and now just need to start cooking again and there will be a complete meal.
At the place where we camped, there were 2-3 groups of young people from Saigon who also rode motorbikes up here and camped like us. I believe, they must be like us, want to come here to feel the warm breath of life, to experience, to open their hearts to nature and people in a new land.
A "trip" of youth is sometimes not only entertainment but also a way to learn, expand knowledge and contemplate the abundant life around you. Cross the roads full of wind and dew, let the wind blow in your face. Just thinking about where we want to go but our hearts flutter, and suddenly find ourselves so happy that we can still breathe and live in this world.
This small corner is quiet enough for your inner turmoil, relaxed enough for quiet relaxation. And that trip with interesting experiences, on a cold night, so many hearts were warmed by the enthusiasm of youth.
And Youth is a precious gift that everyone has for themselves.
Thank you for accompanying us halfway to discover Da Lat, see you as soon as possible so we can hunt clouds together, admire the beauty of Da Lat from a different angle.
From Vietnam with love <3
