It's been a year since #MyFirstMacaoTrip, particularly in April last year, but these photos are shared just now. I was honestly waiting for my planned vacation with my mom to materialize so I could add more photos here. But the recent post of about the closing of the community curation and pinmapple pins made me sad, so I opted to make this post. I just want to see my remaining travel blogs pinned on the Pinmapple map for the last time. Seeing my blogs on the map inspires me to travel, not just around the continent where I am, but to other parts of the world. It was such a wonderful journey with my favorite community.
Going back to the main topic.
This place in Macau makes you feel like you are somewhere in Italy. It is inspired by Venice City that offers visitors an immersive experience, and a glimpse of Venice architecture and its romantic canals and landmarks.
We traveled to The Venetian at Cotai Strip, a place of luxurious resorts and entertainment venues in Macau. This building, by the way, is one of the largest single-structures in Asia. It is such an immersive place, and being here was a once-in-a lifetime opportunity. Thanks to my boss.
I've been to Venice Grand Canal at McKinley Hills in the Philippines, but it is like an ordinary version, and The Venetian is a luxury version of it. Not just does it resemble Venice, Italy, but it truly is a luxurious place. The unique features of The Venetian are truly a stunning replica of the Venice Grand Canal.
Upon entering The Venetian, we were greeted by a golden and spacious atrium adorned with marble floors, elegant columns, and decorations. And from the atrium, there are different sections to explore. We didn't plan to stay longer at The Venetian, because my boss's purpose was only to show me around as it was my first time.
I felt like I was diverted to Italy when we reached the canal. Around it are different luxury shops and dining areas. What's disappointing here is that, unlike the Venice Grand Canal in the Philippines, this area is indoors, so artificial sky-like ceiling is installed, which makes the place a bit odd. Still, you can feel the Venetian vibe in here. The interior and exterior of the shops are stunningly decorated, incorporating Venetian elements, such as chandeliers, ceilings, furnishings, and others, that truly reflect Venice, Italy. People are after the views, so the artificial sky didn't matter to them. With shops that resemble storefronts in Venice, I truly felt like I was strolling through an authentic Italian shopping district.
Finally, the most popular feature of Venice, the Grand Canal, and bridges that resemble the ones in Venice. Canals are winding through the premises. After buying a ticket, one can enjoy riding on a gondola with skilled gondoliers serenading throughout the journey. Truly a romantic experience. A trip to Venetian is undoubtedly incomplete without a gondola ride. Unfortunately, the queue for this ride was too long during the day. It was expected because it was Sunday, so we opted not to go for it, although I was so eager to. Hopefully next time.
After strolling at The Venetian Grand Canal, we headed to the casino and hotel lobby. Even the hallways are stunning with elegant architectural elements. (My bosses are there.)
So that was our small stroll at The Venetian Grand Canal and resort. I hope I could go back here in my next visit to Macau. And hopefully, I could ride on the gondola too.
Thanks for your time.
