As a kid, did it ever come to your mind when watching animals from books, movies, cartoons, and school charts, ”What does a Giraffe really look like? Are ponies baby horses? How about crocodiles? Orangutan? Cheetah? Monkey? Turtles? What do they actually look like? How do lions and tigers differ from each other? Are lions genuinely friendly, while tigers are terrifying? What might I feel when I go near them? Will I be nervous? Will I run? Will I climb the tree?😵 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA”
Yeah, those are all wonders in the mind of a kid who wants to experience such an ideal world and see wildlife animals that we cannot ordinarily just see roaming around. The innermost desires we’ve been hoping for, longing, and wishing to experience… SOON.
Now, my SOON has COME! Behold, everyone, as I will share my adventure in Cebu Safari and Adventure Park with you.
Cebu Safari is located at Barangay Corte, Toril, Carmen, 6005 Cebu, Philippines. It’s far from the highway, so you need to travel for several minutes to get there. If you have wheels, then much better. You can also book an Uber or a tourist ride.
Upon arriving at the bird show venue, I enjoyed listening to their theme song, which gave me goosebumps. Because I was so overwhelmed by the strange feelings I’d felt then. Everything was new, and I was excited about what more the place could offer.
I haven’t taken any photos with the birds, because I got hooked on their exhibitions. However, they came from different countries and regions. They are all excellent, powerful, talented, and brilliant birds. It’s my first time seeing birds that demonstrate proper waste disposal to people, sing Happy Birthday, can do Math, and many more! They’re all just so unique and incredible.
After the show, we proceeded to the African Savannah and waited for the ride.
Here we come!
The ride was fun and informative at the same time because while looking at those rare creatures, someone would educate the passengers about the animals.
ORANGUTAN
Next, we saw the Orangutan, which was too far from the sightseeing area. It seems like he just wants some time alone.🤭
CHEETAH
We went to the Cheetah, but it’s sleeping. Hi friend, just sleep well.🥹 Also, I wanna share with you that its scientific name is Acinonyx jubatus, a carnivore whose lifespan is 18-20 years.
LION
We also went to see the Lion, and it was sleeping too. HAHAHAHA Sweet dreams, nice meeting you. 🦁💛
TURTLES
There are little and giant turtles. They are all cute, and I just find the big turtle’s photo the cutest because it looks like it is smiling!😂
CROCODILES
Actually, seeing crocodiles personally had just given me goosebumps. I mean, it’s scary, just like in movies, right? But look at the tiny crocodile that’s isolated. It’s too cute.
MONKEYS
These are the black-handed spider monkeys or Ateles geoffroyi in scientific name. It’s an omnivore with a lifespan of 33-47 years. I don’t have a clear picture because they’re quite far. I guess, they’re just enjoying their quality time together. 🤭
CAPYBARA
Its scientific name is Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris, a herbivore with a lifespan of 10-12 years.
PONY
After seeing this, therefore, I conclude that the pony, indeed, looks like a baby horse. But yeah, in terms of physicality, ponies differ from horses because they are way shorter.
GIRAFFES
This is one of my favorite parts of the trip. There are so many giraffes here, and they are people-friendly. ~~
But wait, let me share with you first what my science teacher has taught us in high school. It’s unforgettable because it’s interesting. So, did you know why giraffes have long necks?
According to her, Charles Darwin’s evolutionary theory states that there were originally short and long-necked giraffes before. However, a moment came when there were no longer grasses or short trees for those short-necked giraffes. That’s the meaning behind Darwin’s “survival of the fittest” concept. Because the only ones who survived from extreme hunger are those long-necked giraffes with better access to leaves. Therefore, short-necked giraffes were all gone and didn’t survive. That’s why only the long-necked giraffes got the chance to reproduce, passing their genes, which is why we only see them today.
However, that’s only what I have remembered from the discussion, if I’m not mistaken, and it’s just a theory. Therefore, there are many opposing theories, I believe. If you have any ideas or thoughts, feel free to share them here.
There are many animals here that I forgot or didn’t take photos of. But yeah, look at this one who actually just caught my attention. I forgot its name, but just look how cute it is. It seems like he’s problematic, thinking something so deep.😂 The way he sits just looks so cute and funny. If you know this one, please leave a comment.
There is also this food establishment in the forest, where you could eat delicious food while looking around the giraffes, fishes, swans, peacocks, and many more. Indeed, everyone would have a wonderful time here.
Overall, this is such a marvelous and unforgettable place to be. Cebu Safari is such a wonderful wildlife sanctuary. My experiences here made me appreciate and discover distinct wildlife animals in their natural settings, where they are all safe and protected. There’s so much more that you can find here. Cebu Safari and Adventure Park is full of amazement. It’s the right destination for inner child healing, discoveries, attractions, or adventures. This blog, by the way, is just a glimpse of what’s in there. They have so much more to offer.
Honestly, I can’t contain the happiness inside me with this adventure. To think it’s a free trip, I am even more grateful. It indeed made my inner child happy. All the questions stemming from my curiosities and eagerness are now responded to with glee. But I still wish to return here with my whole family at the right time, using my own pocket. In that way, my heart would be more full.
Thank you, Cebu Safari and Adventure Park, for the great experience! See you again next time!
Thank you so much, dear Hivers, for reaching this far. I appreciate you all, and I’ll catch you on my next blog!🥰
