Hello everyone. I recently discovered an interesting place in my city and I would like to share my impressions with you.
These are old grain silos in Belgrade, transformed into an art center. I find it particularly interesting that these monumental silos are like a honeycomb and consist of cells.
The first time I was there, I went in the morning. I like to stay by the river, and since the silos are located on the bank of the Danube river, I was sure that this would be one of the places I would visit often. And indeed, after the first visit, I went several more times.
Beautiful murals are painted on the outer walls of silos. The painting was in progress when I took the photos.
My favorite is the woman with her hands up towards the bee. I love bees. I love Hive! 😊
There is a cozy cafe in front of the silos. Great energy, relaxing atmosphere and a good selection of drinks.
People chit chat about some everyday topics, some read, some enjoy the view of the river. You can go down to the river by stairs, but it's very steep, so I didn't go there because of my children.
But later we walked along the Danube quay which is very close to the silos.
I passed on my love for rivers to my children, so they were happy to join me on the walk.
But let's get back to the silos. Would you like to enter these massive tall buildings? Let's go in and take a peek inside. 😊
The first time I was there, it was evening and I went with my sister. In the evening, I could not see the murals that well, which look much more impressive during the day. Then there was an exhibition of works of art inside.
The sentences painted on the walls "everything that hurts will pass" and "if one day I die" attracted my special attention. I began to think about what will happen when I die one day and whether I will die or continue to live through the traces I left behind...
I love art and creative ways to express emotions. We saw a lot of interesting paintings. But my most intense feeling was the space inside the silos. It's a bit scary. I would not recommend it to claustrophobic people. 😊 But it is a unique feeling and experience.
It's nice to see people so relaxed. This is a place of positive vibes and good energy that you will surely take home. And I'm glad that in my city there is another place where good energy can be shared and art exhibitions and performances can be enjoyed.
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
Greetings!
Jelena
