Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well today. If you would like to visit Opatija after reading my previous post, I recommend you also visit two beautiful places nearby: Lovran and Volosko.
Volosko is a small fishing village that belongs to Opatija.
It is very authentic and picturesque, known for good restaurants and artistic performances. Life in this place is oriented toward the sea and the sea is beautiful here.
This is where the Lungomare seaside promenade begins. It is a favorite place to walk in this part of Croatia. The promenade by the Adriatic sea is very nicely arranged and so long that you will never be bored walking. It leads to Opatija and further on to Lovran.
When you come to Lovran, the place located on the slopes of Mount Ucka, you will be greeted by fresh air, colorful surroundings, narrow, paved streets, good wine, and a beautiful sea.
It is a privilege to walk through such an old settlement, preserved for so many years.
I am most impressed by the houses, packed close together, which were built on the foundations of the walls that surrounded the old town. I like those little windows on the houses and everything is so tucked.
I am inspired even by the laundry in the narrow streets that dries and flutters in the wind. 🙂
Lovran is known for its rich historical heritage, but also the laurel. It took its name from laurel, an aromatic plant with a very pleasant Mediterranean scent that grows wild and abundantly here.
This is one of the places where I could imagine my perfect life or at least close to perfect if perfection does not exist. But during your stay here you will not be sure that perfection does not exist because everything looks so perfect. 🙂
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
Greetings!
Jelena
