Hello everyone, I hope you are all well. Yesterday, my sister-in-law sent me photos from her trip to Croatia, which I liked very much, especially because I am emotionally attached to this country. I was born in Dalmatia, but apart from Dalmatia, I am a lover of Istria.
One of the most beautiful cities in Istria is Pula.
I visited Pula a few years ago, and I plan to visit it again in the summer. This city is like an open-air museum. Many ancient buildings are reminiscent of Rome. The most famous monument from the Roman period is the Amphitheater, popularly called the Arena of Pula. Impressive place!
I remember a concert by a music artist who, unfortunately, is no longer alive. I say artist because that concert was a real work of art for me and this arena and the whole ambiance made it an event that I always remember fondly. While looking at these pictures I can hear the sound of cellos and pianos, a beautiful voice, and smell the sea air.
It is not known the exact reason for the construction of this arena here, but one legend says that Emperor Vespasian had a mistress in Pula and that the arena was built in her honor in the 1st century.
Pula is a city of beautiful memories and invaluable cultural and historical treasure that makes it special and unique.
The view of the Golden Gate has always been artistic. It is a recognizable ancient monument of this city.
As well as the Temple of Augustus. Very well preserved ancient monument.
Along with rich history, Pula Castle – Kaštel, an old fortress, offers an amazing view of Pula and its surroundings.
Completely preserved, the Chapel of St. Maria Formosa belongs to the monuments of great architectural value.
The Twin gates in front of the Archaeological Museum of Istria were the entrance to the ancient theater.
In this city, even residential old buildings look like cultural monuments.
You will feel very comfortable here. The locals are kind and smiling people. They will do their best to bring you home with wonderful impressions.
In the end, a reminder. Don't forget to eat ice cream in Pula because it is delicious. 🙂
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine. The images were given to me by my sister-in-law and some of them are on her Instagram account as well.
Greetings!
