With the release of our Christmas album and the christening concert, our 2024 work season ended, a wonderful year that left us a lot of learning and anecdotes that will stay with us forever. My wife and I are not from the city of Caracas, so as the end of the year approaches the farewells with our friends have begun, and among all of them stands out our little trip to the top of El Avila with Kimberly, our godmother. The heat below was a bit intense, but we never imagined that we would be missing more coats when we reached the top of the city.
Con el estreno de nuestro álbum navideño y el concierto de bautizo terminó nuestra temporada de trabajo del 2024, un año maravilloso que nos dejo mucho aprendizaje y anécdotas que nos acompañarán por siempre. Mi esposa y yo no somos de la ciudad de Caracas, así que mientras se acerca el fin de año han comenzado las despedidas con nuestros amigos, y entre todas ellas destaca nuestro pequeño viaje a la cima de El Ávila con Kimberly, nuestra madrina. El calor abajo era un poco intenso, pero jampas nos imaginamos que nos faltarían más abrigos cuando llegamos a la cima de la ciudad.
I hadn't visited El Avila for a few years, so I didn't hesitate long to accept the invitation. I was anxious to take pictures of the city from the cable car, but it didn't take long to get into a very thick fog that really didn't allow me to do so. As soon as we arrived I knew it was all worth it, it was a winter landscape at the top of Caracas and I had never had the privilege of going up and coinciding with this weather, which also added to the Christmas decorations. Another detail that made this trip special was that we arrived late, since the initial plan was to see the sunset from the top of the mountain.
Tenía unos cuantos años sin visitar El Ávila, así que no dude mucho en aceptar la invitación. Estaba ansioso por tomar fotografías de la ciudad desde el teleférico, pero no tardamos mucho en entrar a una neblina muy espesa que realmente no me lo permitió. A penas llegamos supe que todo valió la pena, era un paisaje invernal en la cima de Caracas y nunca había tenido el privilegio de subir y coincidir con este clima, que además se sumaba a las decoraciones navideñas. Otro detalle que hizo especial este viaje fue que llegamos tarde, ya que el plan inicial era ver el atardecer desde la cima de la montaña.
I will not deny that at the beginning I was a little worried when it started to drizzle, and I am still a little affected by the plague I have had the last few weeks, but I did not imagine it would be like this upstairs, I still enjoyed it, although we needed better coats, but everything was very special and the trip turned out to be a dream come true. The perfect people and a hot chocolate as we walked through the corridors of the place. Upstairs everything is well taken care of, I like to see that between workers and tourists they keep Waraira Repano beautiful, I feel it is a collective work. There are many stores to drink, eat, there is an ice skating rink, but we did not go in because there was a private theater performance and because of the time we decided to stay in this area and did not go to Galipán, which is another of the most striking places of El Ávila.
No voy a negar que al inicio me preocupé un poco cuando comenzó a lloviznar, y es que sigo un poco afectado de la peste que he tenido las últimas semanas, pero no imaginé que arriba estuviera así, aún así lo disfruté, aunque nos hizo falta mejores abrigos, pero todo fue muy especial y el viaje resultó ser un sueño hecho realidad. Las personas perfectas y un chocolate caliente mientras caminábamos por los pasillos del lugar. Arriba todo está bien cuidado, me gusta ver que entre los trabajadores y turistas mantienen hermoso el Waraira Repano, siento que es un trabajo colectivo. Hay muchos negocios para beber, comer, está la pista de patinaje sobre hielo, pero no entramos porque había una función teatral privada y por la hora decidimos quedarnos en esta zona y no fuimos hasta Galipán, que es otro de los lugares más llamativos de El Ávila.
It was very pleasing to discover that the internet has improved a bit upstairs, I remember when I knew the Avila as in 2020 it was very complicated to make some payments, but everything has improved for tourists. The flowers are beautiful, there is a park for children and the restaurant of the Hotel Humbolt is available for everyone. We could not miss the famous strawberries with cream in our visit and tour, if we did not buy them we could not say that we had gone on a trip to Avila 😅
Fue muy grato descubrir que ha mejorado un poco el internet arriba, recuerdo que cuando conocí el Ávila como en 2020 fue muy complicado realizar algunos pagos, pero todo ha mejorado para los turistas. Las flores están hermosas, hay parque para niños y el restaurante del Hotel Humbolt está disponible para todos. No pudieron faltar las famosas fresas con crema en nuestra visita y recorrido, sino las comprábamos no podíamos decir que habíamos ido de viaje al Ávila 😅
The experience was very pleasant, and I even want to go back. Obviously I had to do some of the activities up there and in fact I want to visit the Galipán area, where there are many more flowers and you can go on horseback rides. I hope to take my mom up there this December, but I am looking forward to even more weather like this again. The experience of going near sunset was very pleasant and I think I can make it a habit for the next opportunities.
La experiencia fue muy grata, y hasta tengo ganas de volver ya. Evidentemente hizo falta hacer varias de las actividades que se hacen allá arriba y de hecho quiero visitar la zona de Galipán, allí hay muchas más flores y se pueden hacer viajes en caballo. Espero llevar a mi mamá este mismo Diciembre, pero deseo aún más coincidir con un clima parecido a este nuevamente. La experiencia de ir cerca del anochecer fue muy grata y creo que la puedo volver una costumbre para las siguientes oportunidades.
