One of the Spanish cities I had the pleasure of enjoying the most was Oviedo in Asturias. We were there for two and a half days and although the cold breeze was blowing very hard I dared to go out and explore very early in the mornings. I only went out once in the evening and that was the night of our concert, the good thing is that the Oviedo Philharmonic was only a block away from our hotel.
Una de las ciudades españolas que más tuve el placer de disfrutar fue Oviedo en Asturias. Estuvimos allí dos días y medio y aunque las brisa fría golpeaba con mucha fuerza me atreví a salir a explorar desde muy temprano en las mañanas. Solo salí una vez en la noche y fue la noche de nuestro concierto, lo bueno es que la Filarmónica de Oviedo quedaba a solo una cuadra de nuestro hotel.
My classmates and I took over the streets of Oviedo and found each other on every corner, it was so much fun. My favorite place was the Campo de San Francisco, a beautiful park filled with lots of vegetation, animals, lakes and one of the biggest attractions in Asturias, the little Mafalda Statue that can only be found in the heart of this place.
Mis compañeros y yo nos adueñamos de las calles de Oviedo y nos encontrábamos en cada esquina, era tan divertido. Mi lugar favorito fue el Campo de San Francisco, un hermoso parque lleno de mucha vegetación, animales, lagos y una de las mayores atracciones de Asturias, la pequeña Estatua de Mafalda que solo se puede encontrar en el corazón de este lugar.
As we were walking what we least expected was to meet the little Mafalda and more than that the kind people who were there helped us to take these pictures with her, of course we returned the favor, and that is precisely what this statue represents, social awareness and ethics, for being a character that has transcended by representing these values. I share with you our pictures with her and some other shots of this place.
Mientras íbamos caminando lo que menos esperamos era encontrarnos con la pequeña Mafalda y más que las amables personas que estaban ahí nos ayudaran a tomarnos estas fotografías junto a ella, por su puesto que le devolvimos el favor, y precisamente es eso lo que esta estatua representa, la consciencia social y la ética, por ser un personaje que ha trascendido por representar estos valores.
