A day to remember
We are all stressed out and alarmed during this whole pandemic situation because of drastic changes. We can no longer visit our friends and families, or even go outside to eat and go to our favorite places. Personally, I really love beaches, oceans or sea. No matter what you call it, it boils down to the vast scenery of pristine blue water with white sand kissing our feet. The smell of the breeze along the shore and the heat from the scorching sun sounds so relaxing, isn't it? As we all know that we can no longer go and stay in a hotel easily just like before because of some rules that were imposed by the authorities. So, no matter how we crave for all those things, we cannot just impulsively do it. But the thing that we can do right now is to reminisce those moments and look forward to better days in creating more.
Two years ago, I had a chance to stay in a 5 star hotel in Mactan Cebu because of my aunt and cousins who live in America are taking their vacation. However, I was only able to stay there for only a day. Yes, for a day. I had to leave them that soon because I needed to see my dentist and this was also one of the requirements in my college enrollment. But I also made sure that I had a good time.
At around 4pm, we arrived in the hotel's lobby by riding a Grab car from my Aunt's house in Consolacion. The workers are really hospitable, amazing and beautiful. There are some staffs who are wearing the Philippine National Costume and leaving the guests with a great awe. They greeted us with a big smiles flashed in their faces and offer to help us for our luggage. We stayed in the lobby for a couple of minutes for my aunt finalized the transaction with the receptionist.
The room is located in the 2nd floor and had an amazing ocean view from the room's balcony. The moment we arrived in our room I suddenly asked my aunt's permission to roam around the area. She then said yes and told me to bring the camera with me to take beautiful pictures. She really knows that I like taking photographs so I immediately grabbed her Canon DSLR camera and slided the sling around my neck. As we all know, one of the disadvatages of being the person whose going to hold the camera is that you will have a hard time in capturing your own photo with that astounding beach background. With my suprise, my American younger girl cousin decided to go with me and started our walk outside the room. Our short adventure began here.
We decided to took the elevator and when we went out we don't know exactly where are we heading to. So, we decided to go to the near building which offer some ammenities. It's their entertainment building where in there's a playroom, gym, a gaming center and some rooms that we did not know what's inside. My favorite is the gaming center. They got some pc, billiard table, bar area and some arcade. I really like how it generally looks. It gives me an inviting vibe and the lights complements the whole place.
Then, we continue walking. Until our feet brought us to this magical place. Its a mini Forest Park where in there are some Cacao Trees. It also has a small table and chairs with some signages about how to turn it into chocolates.
We walked by this spa and while walking we talked about on how it could be so relaxing if we will ge inside. But then, we decided to continue walking and wander around and found this silent place.
After taking some photos, we walked some few meters and we found this beautiful convention facility. I am really inlove with this architecture, actually, its my favorite place in the hotel. What's more beautiful about this? Its the position of the building because its facing the beach and you will really enjoy the view.
We never recognized the time that its night until its already dark and sun was already out. We decided to go back to the room and jump into the bed because we already felt the soreness of our feet. We turn on the tv and watched some shows. My aunt told me to fetch my younger cousins because they were still swimming in the pool. And we saw some Filipino celebrities like Lara Guigaman who was also a title holder in Miss International back in the days and her husband who to stayed beside the pool.
Another day has started and after a couple of hours I am fully aware that I had to leave. But, I tried to think less about it and just enjoy the day before it ends. When I woke up, I went directly to the restroom to take a shower and then changed my clothes. I was wearing a dress at this time but I just felt weird in taking photos. Dresses are not my normal go to so I felt a bit uncomfortable. I never had any photos while in this hotel except that stolen photo in the lobby. And then, we ate our breakfast before going outside and witnessed how beautiful the beach was.
After couple of hours, we decided to go swimming in the pool together with my 5 cousins and aunts stayed in the beach. So, we went back to the room and changed. Truth be told, I don't know how to swim but I really find myself fascinated by how the waves kisses the shore. Ironic isn't it? If you're going to ask me if I am afraid then, my answer would be a big yes. Afraid in terms of how small we only know about the ocean inuding the life and the things that are still undiscovered.
While on our way back to the room, we found this beautiful place which is located in front of the U-type hotel building. It's really breath taking how this mini forest looks like. It gave me a vibe from a different place or country.
Then, I took a shower and started getting ready to leave. I told my aunts and cousins that I'll have to go around 4:30pm. My aunts even told me to reschedule my appointment but we both know I can't do that since it will be the only free time of my father to go with me in the dentist clinic. I bid them my goodbye and started walking awag from the room. Going back home I ride a jeepney and think of all the places and memories in that hotel and wishing that I could stay a little longer. T'was fun and unforgettable.
