Hello worldmappin fam! How are you all doing? Hope everyone’s good out there! I just wanted to share about our swimming trip to a pool in Kitaotao, Bukidnon the other day there was so much going on that all i did was snap photos of everything i saw!
When we first got there the first thing we saw was all the greenery it felt like we were in a mini jungle! So many trees plants i could not even name and the air was so clean and cool. Nothing like the city here where it gets super hot and the air can be dusty sometimes. Plus you could smell all the fresh leaves and damp earth that scent just hits different when you are out of the urban chaoos..
As soon as we got out of the car i could already hear the sound of water and other guests laughing all the tiredness from the drive just vanished right away. The trip from Cdo City to Kitaotao took about three hours, and we even got stuck in a little bit of traffic along the way because of some road repairs, but the moment i laid eyes on the pool i thought to myself “this was so worth it!”
The pool itself had the most beautiful water like a turquoise gem shaped into a small lake. The shallow end was noy too deep at all perfect for kids and for people like me who rather just float around while staring up at the sky. The clouds were all fluffy and grey that day which made the water look even brighter somehow.
There was even a slide! It was white and looked a bit old but was still in great shape and safe to use they hadd clearly kept it well maintained. When i tried sliding down it felt like i was a kid again the rush of water hitting your body when you reach the bottom is so much fun!
I even tried filming myself going down but it was too fast to get a good shot and i almost dropped my phone in the water so yeah i just stopped and focused on enjoying the ride instead. My cousin kept teasing me for being scared to let go of my phone but hey i need those photos for the fam right?
The surroundings were really the star of the show. There were stone walls that looked like they were made by nature itself covered in grass and climbing plants that had little purple flowers on them. Up on the hill there was a small house that looked like a modern nipa hut probably the resort’s office or where they prepare food..
I could not get a clear photo of it though because it was surrounded by leaves and trees and there were even some chickens running around up there! There was also a big wall with letters painted on it i could not read the whole thing but it must have been the resort’s name.
I tried getting closer to see better but there were so many plants in the way and i did not want to risk getting swarmed by bugs (plus i spotted a really big spider hanging from one of the leaves no thank you!). So i just went back to the pool area where it was safer and way more fun..
My friends who came with me all had an amazing time. There was another smaller pool nearby with much colder water they said it might have come from a natural spring. I’m not sure but the water was really cold which was perfect for cooling down after playing around in the main pool and working up a sweat. We even brought our own food adobo sinigang and sandwiches and had a picnic by the poolside on these little concrete tables they had set up..
Eating while listening to the sound of water and birds around us was so nice we did not even need music playing in the background. We talked about all sorts of stuff from silly stories back in high school to planning our next trip somewhere else in Mindanao.
Time flew by so fast before we knew it it was already getting dark and we had to head back home. We even stopped at a roadside store on the way back to buy some fresh buko juice best way to end a perfect day!
That day was so much fun you don’t need expensive trips or fancy places to have a good time. Sometimes you just need to explore a little see another part of the world and enjoy yourself with the people you care about..
