Hace varios años durante mi viaje a Europa por mi Luna de Miel, visité varias ciudades y sitios emblemáticos. En esta oportunidad les voy a contar sobre una imponente construcción que data de 1889: la Torre Eiffel diseñada por Gustave Eiffel. Aunque actualmente se encuentra cerrada debido al Covid, resulta que este sitio turístico es el más visitado en el mundo con más de 7 millones al año desde 2015. Existe mucha información sobre este monumento, pero voy a contarles sólo algunos detalles que los guías turísticos nos dijeron, como por ejemplo que la torre necesita cada siete años 70 toneladas de pintura para que no se oxiden las 7.300 toneladas de hierro forjado. Es la edificación más alta de París con 324 metros de altura. Posee 2.5 millones de remaches para mantener la estructura unida. Tiene 774 escalones para subir a la segunda planta. Several years ago during my honeymoon trip to Europe, I visited several cities and emblematic sites. This time I am going to tell you about an imposing construction dating back to 1889: the Eiffel Tower designed by Gustave Eiffel. Although it is currently closed due to the Covid, it turns out that this tourist site is the most visited in the world with more than 7 million a year since 2015. There is a lot of information about this monument, but I am going to tell you just a few details that the tour guides told us, such as that the tower needs every seven years 70 tons of paint so that the 7,300 tons of wrought iron do not rust. It is the tallest building in Paris with 324 meters high. It has 2.5 million rivets to hold the structure together. It has 774 steps to climb to the second floor. La ubicación de la Torre es al lado del río Sena y allí convergen casi todo los medios de transporte, de modo que puedes llegar en metro, tren, autobús, por el Sena a través de una de sus embarcaciones o incluso puedes hacerlo por medio de bicicletas-carruaje.
The location of the Tower is next to the Seine River and almost all means of transport converge there, so you can get there by metro, train, bus, by the Seine through one of its boats or even by bicycle-carriage.

Nuestro recorrido por la estructura comenzó subiendo en el ascensor desde la calle hasta el primer nivel. El ascensor tiene una cabina con vista panorámica y resulta que no va en línea recta sino que lo hace siguiendo la forma de uno de los pilares de la torre. Al llegar al primer nivel, optamos por seguir subiendo y tomamos los dos siguientes ascensores hasta la cima. La idea era poder avistar la ciudad durante el atardecer y así lo hicimos.
Al llegar a la cima lo primero que sientes es mucho viento. A 324 metros del suelo el viento además era helado, pero la emoción de estar en la cumbre artificial más alta de París no tiene precio y disfrutamos de los 360˚ de visión de la hermosa ciudad.
Our tour of the structure began by taking the elevator up from the street to the first level. The elevator has a panoramic view cabin and it turns out that it does not go in a straight line but follows the shape of one of the pillars of the tower. When we reached the first level, we opted to keep going up and took the next two elevators to the top. The idea was to be able to see the city at sunset and so we did.
When you get to the top the first thing you feel is a lot of wind. At 324 meters above the ground the wind was also freezing, but the thrill of being on the highest artificial summit in Paris was priceless and we enjoyed the 360˚ view of the beautiful city.

Los cuatro puntos cardinales de la cima poseen miradores telescópicos para apreciar con mejor precisión los demás monumentos como el Arco del Triunfo, los Campos de Marte, el Sena, etc.
Este nivel, al igual que el segundo, tienen una protección extra en forma de malla para evitar alguna caída accidental. Además hay un espacio cerrado donde se encuentran todas las banderas de los países con la distancia que existe entre ellos y la Torre Eiffel. A ratos tenía que entrar aquí a refugiarme del frío, en cambio mi esposo seguía tomando fotos 🤣.
The four cardinal points of the summit have telescopic viewpoints to better appreciate other monuments such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs de Mars, the Seine, etc.
This level, as well as the second one, have an extra protection in the form of a mesh to avoid any accidental fall. There is also an enclosed space where all the flags of the countries with the distance between them and the Eiffel Tower are located. At times I had to come in here to take shelter from the cold, while my husband kept taking pictures 🤣.

Luego de por lo menos hora y media de mi sufrimiento helado 🤣, decidimos bajar al segundo nivel. Aquí comimos un bocadillo, tomamos un delicioso chocolate con crema y por si fuera poco degustamos un exquisito champagne. Bueno fue con copitas de plástico, pero igual brindamos románticamente por el comienzo de nuestro matrimonio. Aquí también nos tomamos muchas fotos y la vista de la ciudad, aunque no es tan alta, es muy hermosa en la noche.
After at least an hour and a half of my icy suffering 🤣, we decided to go down to the second level. Here we had a snack, a delicious chocolate with cream and to top it off we tasted an exquisite champagne. Well, it was with little plastic glasses, but we still toasted romantically for the beginning of our marriage. Here we also took many pictures and the view of the city, although not so high, is very beautiful at night.

El final de esta visita fue a pie bajando por las escaleras hasta la calle y desde allí hasta el metro más cercano Gare Champ de Mars Tour Eiffel.

Mis recomendaciones
- Realiza la compra de la entrada con dos meses de anticipación. Nosotros lo hicimos así y no tuvimos ningún contratiempo. Recuerdo que un amigo hace varios años nos pidió que lo ayudáramos con su viaje a esta ciudad. No había previsto la compra del ticket y no pudo subir a la torre.
- Llega con antelación a la hora de tu visita. Son bastante estrictos y no te dejarán subir si no llegas a tiempo.
- Si quieres que la visita sea más romántica, hazlo como lo hicimos nosotros. Escoge la visita a las 6 de la tarde y podrás ver la vista panorámica de la ciudad tanto de día como de noche. Ver el atardecer es espectacular.
- Revisa la estación climática de la ciudad cuando estés allí. Nosotros fuimos en otoño y hacía bastante frío, por eso llevamos abrigo.
- Lleva ropa cómoda y zapatos adecuados, porque si subes hasta la cima, el recorrido será de aproximadamente 2 horas y media.
- Puedes hacer una reservación para cenar en el restaurant de la segunda planta. Disfrutarás una cena súper romántica con la mejor vista nocturna de París.
- Si no tienes tanto presupuesto, puedes degustar al estilo buffet en otros restaurantes o simplemente comer un bocadillo. Hay para todos los bolsillos.
- Lleva la cámara con suficiente batería.
- No compres souvenirs de vendedores ambulantes. Resulta que está penado por la ley y te pueden multar.
My recommendations
- Buy your ticket two months in advance. We did it this way and we had no setbacks. I remember a friend of mine several years ago asked us to help him with his trip to this city. He had not foreseen the purchase of the ticket and was unable to climb the tower.
- Arrive well in advance of your visit time. They are quite strict and will not let you go up if you are not on time.
- If you want to make the visit more romantic, do it like we did. Choose to visit at 6pm and you will be able to see the panoramic view of the city both day and night. Watching the sunset is spectacular.
- Check the weather season of the city when you are there. We went in autumn and it was quite cold, so we took coats.
- Wear comfortable clothes and appropriate shoes, because if you go all the way to the top, it will take about 2.5 hours.
- You can make a reservation for dinner at the restaurant on the second floor. You will enjoy a super romantic dinner with the best night view of Paris.
- If you are on a budget, you can enjoy buffet style dining in other restaurants or just have a snack. There is something for every budget.
- Bring your camera with enough battery.
- Don't buy souvenirs from street vendors. It happens to be punishable by law and you can be fined.
