Our first anniversary in 2019, we celebrated it in Krabi, Thailand. We told each other, let's try and travel when we celebrate our anniversary, whether locally or if we can visit neighboring countries, depending on our time and finances, we would like to do so. Just to get away from the busy life we're in and enjoy something different, spending time with each other, realigning ourselves. I think it's important that we always set aside time as husband and wife to enjoy one another, fall in love again and just chat uninterruptedly.
We chose Krabi because I LOVE THE BEACH & OCEAN!! My husband, not so. He likes the city or town more as he doesn't swim and doesn't really enjoy doing anything related to water. But, because of me, I put aside his preferences and went with it. It was quite an adventure! haha~
The thing about the both of us is that we're super duper chilled when on holiday. We do not like to plan a long list of things to do or where to visit. I don't enjoy that stress of planning when I am on a holiday, as I love to just be impromptu and just play by ear along the way. I think such adventure is fun, to me at least, less stressful and definitely not hectic.
Of course, the basic stuff of choosing the right hotel and all that is important but other than that, we go with the flow~~~~~~ just like the wind~~~~~~
First order of business, FOOD!! We had this "green" beef curry. Boy it was super delicious and appetising, we had it with rice and two other dishes
And for dessert, we must definitely have the authentic sticky rice with mango. So sweet and tasty, definitely a good ending to a beautiful welcome meal
This massage place was just 5 minutes walking distance from our hotel. We frequented this place in our 4D3N stay at Krabi. I think we went there almost every day! It was cheap. From body massages, to foot massage & medi pedi. So good to be pampered!
This was probably the funniest thing that happened. I left it to the husband to decide what scooter or motorcycle to hire. He went with this, just because it was cute! hahaha. See next photos for some hilarious happening
*We got cute helmets as well to suit the scooter. I still cannot imagine these two huge Malaysians riding that scooter. My husband somemore said, "no worries, it can take us" hahaha yup, we shall see.
Then this happened! We were heading to the night market, about 30 mins away by scooter. Half way through the journey, suddenly we took a corner and skidded. It was super scary to be honest but my amazing hubby was so steady and managed to balance the scooter and we stopped at the roadside. It was a puncture! When I say scary... let me try and paint the picture to you. In a foreign land, with a funny looking scooter, these two Malaysians happily on their way to the market, suddenly skidded at a fast corner thankfully no other vehicles were passing us, and it was getting dark. We pushed and pushed, not knowing where would the nearest workshop be.
huhuhu...... to our surprise, these two kind-hearted local tour guides who were on their way home stopped on their bike next to us. With limited English, they helped us by calling a nearby workshop, then offered to help us push it while they passed us one of their bike for us to follow behind to the workshop. We offered them some money to thank them but they refused. They were tooooo kind-hearted and we're ultimately blessed. We reached the workshop just in time before it closed!
The tyre was really gone, in fact it affected the rim too but it was still ride-able so we got the tyre fixed and headed to the market as planned. Too bad, the market was 70% closed and had limited stalls opened. We had a very good laugh over this whole adventure!
NEXT, THE EXCITING PART OF OUR TRIP... KAYAKING!!
I love anything outdoors. Just walking, sightseeing, exploring... you name it, I enjoy it, as long it is not IN THE CITY! The reason is, I am born and bred, living in a City my whole life, I would like to enjoy the outdoors and scenery when I am on holiday. So, here are some photos of our kayaking adventure. Oh, it looked way easier than it really is. It's VERY tiring and kayaking really will test your relationship with the other person on the same kayak as you! hahaha.
Excited to finally be able to do this. I've been wanting to Kayak for awhile
The group of people we joined for this kayaking trip
Following photos are the view from where we were kayaking.... GORGEOUS!
OK, confession time. My husband was doing most of the kayaking while I was taking pictures and just enjoying the beautiful nature! hahaha
Here are photos of us:
Then here are photos from the beach just 3 minutes walking distance from our hotel:

Ok, that was our very memorable trip to Krabi, Thailand. I would go back there again because it's very affordable and relaxing. But, of course, I would love to explore other South East Asian countries first as there's a lot to see and explore too! Thank you, Krabi for being so memorable and kind to us!
