After going to the cactus park at Mt. Omuro ( see the previous post). We headed back to Ito, hiking to a temple with a pretty wisteria garden and getting a temple stamp and from there, we waited for the bus back to Ito.

Back at Ito, we went to have a hot spring. Unfortunately, the famous and old hot spring in town, Tokaikan, was closed due to the pandemic, so we downsized quite a bit and went to the hotel / hot spring next door. It was quite pleasant. I wish we could have gone into the old one though, from the outside it looks pretty impressive.

After that, we wandered around the town, which was pretty quiet despite it being Golden Week. The town has a lot of references to the seven gods in the area, there are also so many hot springs.

The next day we wandered around the town a bit more, went to one of the foot hot springs in town, going to Ito park for the view, a couple of the seven gods temples for the serenity and to the beach where we ate in a restaurant nearby and had some lovely seafood.

A lot of people pass straight through Ito, just like I have always done, but I actually think its a nice little town and its on a convenient train line. If you like hot springs, seafood, temples and relaxation, plus the beach in the summer, its a good place to stay for a day of two.
