In this post, we continue to explore the Royal Castle in Warsaw from the inside. This time I will show you another room - the Old Auditory Room. There is also splendor here, there are many golden elements, and there are beautiful oil paintings on the walls.

The Old Audience Chamber was designed by Dominik Merlini in 1776-77. It served as an audience place before Stanisław August set up a parade throne room in the Grand Suite.
The painter Marcello Bacciarelli should be considered the co-creator of the interior of the hall. He was the author of a supraport depicting the royal virtues: Strength, Reason, Faith and Justice, and a plafond showing the flourishing of arts, sciences, agriculture and commerce under the reign of Stanisław August.
The hall was rebuilt to match its appearance from before 1939, and its walls were fitted with hundreds of original elements (including eagles over the mirrors). The throne seat is original, while the decoration of the throne, incl. the baldachin and backrest were designed by Andrzej Grzybowski based on descriptions from the period.
The most intimate part of the King's Apartment were six rooms: Bedroom, Hallway Closet, Dressing Room, Study, Green Room and Yellow Room. The everyday life of the court was concentrated in them; here the king received at informal audiences, held intimate dinners and, above all, worked and rested.

Pokój Audiencjonalny Stary zaprojektował Dominik Merlini w latach 1776-77. Służył jako miejsce audiencji zanim Stanisław August urządził paradną salę tronową w Apartamencie Wielkim.
Za współtwórcę wnętrza sali należy uznać malarza Marcella Bacciarellego. Był on autorem supraport, przedstawiających cnoty królewskie: Siłę, Rozsądek, Wiarę i Sprawiedliwość oraz plafonu ukazującego Rozkwit Sztuk, Nauk, Rolnictwa i Handlu pod panowaniem Stanisława Augusta.
Sala została odbudowana zgodnie z jej wyglądem sprzed 1939 roku, a w jej ściany wmontowano setki oryginalnych elementów (m.in. orły nad lustrami). Fotel tronowy jest oryginalny, natomiast dekorację tronu, m.in. baldachim i zaplecek zaprojektował Andrzej Grzybowski na podstawie opisów z epoki.
Najintymniejszą część Apartamentu Króla stanowiło sześć pomieszczeń: Sypialnia, Przedpokój Garderoby, Garderoba, Gabinet, Pokój Zielony i Pokój Żółty. W nich koncentrowało się codzienne życie dworu; tutaj król przyjmował na nieformalnych audiencjach, urządzał kameralne kolacje, a przede wszystkim pracował i odpoczywał.

The room was very spacious, all paintings in the room had an oval shape and golden frames. In the previous room there were pictures presenting Warsaw, and in this one there were only pictures with portraits of people.
Pokój był bardzo przestronny, wszystkie obrazy w pokoju miały owalny kształt i złote ramy. W poprzedniej sali były obrazy prezentujące Warszawę, a w tej znajdowały się tylko obrazy z portretami ludzi.
And when you looked at the ceiling, you could see such a wonderful painting. When visiting such palaces, it should be possible to lie on the floor, then the best view of what is on the ceiling would be the best :)
A gdy spojrzało się na sufit, widać było takie cudowne malowidło. Zwiedzając takie pałace powinna być możliwość położenia się na podłogę, wtedy byłby najlepszy widok na to co znajduje się na suficie :)

A tu możecie zobaczyć tron. Ciekawie wyglądają te pióra nad baldachimem nad tronem.
