After our first day of adventure in Coron Palawan. Our hike in Mt. Tapyas and champagne at sunset. Our second day of new adventure is a trip to Black Island in Busuanga, one of the hidden gems of Palawan. According to Google, the Black Island is known to locals as Malajon Island, is a huge, mysterious looking island near Busuanga, Coron. It is also popular to tourists because of its easily accessible Japanese Shipwreck during world war 2. The water is crystal clear that you can even see it from the shore during low tide. This island gave us a perfect mix of thrill and tranquility.
We woke up early and got ready for the boat ride. We have our transportation going to the boat ride. There were 15 people in the boat. Black Island is found off the coast of western Busuanga. It’s 3 hours of travel from Coron Town, 2 hours by van and 1 by boat. Were mixed of local and foreign tourists. My husband and I arranged everything in advance. We prepared a pack of our essentials. Like extra clothes, swimwear, water, snacks, and sunblock. The port has lots of tourists in the morning going to different islands. Our boatman welcomed us with a smile.
-Inside the van and she is excited for our trip-
We have our traditional wooden boat ride. We often see them on the island. It's simple, open-air and has a charm.
When we started our journey, we left the shore. I admit to you guys I felt really nervous. My Aya is so happy and shouting. Were on a boat ride. And thank God that our company did not get angry or irritated. They understand it all. Because Aya is the only kid on the boat. Our kid is not scared at all, she's enjoying our island trip. I can say she's an adventurous kid. The route to the Black Island crosses part of the open ocean, I did not expect the waves we encountered. But my husband says everything is ok. He held my hand and just stayed calm. And just enjoy the ride.
Kids were fearless. Watching the ocean view and kids makes me happy. When the water splashed we were all laughing.
Waiting until the time we arrived on the island. All I can see is the ocean. I got used to the movement of the waves and I felt the boat’s strength. I just started to enjoy our boat trip going to the island.
The breathtaking view, blue water and the sunlight makes everything so right. We saw the island and our trip took over an hour. The white sand and towering cliff from a far is breathtaking.
Were excited to step foot on the island. It's not a crowded island, few boats are there. It's the untouched beauty of nature. Finally we arrived on the island. As we stepped on the shore its a wow. Beautiful magical paradise, name all the beautiful words to describe it the place is perfect.
Soft powdery sand, crystal-clear water invited us to dive on the water.
There is an island cave which is worth visiting. Going to the cave its like the entrance to another portal. We go to the wooden stairs. When we reached inside, Aya is not happy. She's scared of the bats and the smell she don't like it. She said its disgusting bat poop. You know kids like that. We just have photos and go outside of the caves.
We really enjoyed swimming. Playing with Aya splashing water together, I captured photos of its unforgettable moment.
We take a break to have our snack. After eating, the kids went back to swim and play. While my husband and I are enjoying the quiet place. Watching the kids laughing together made me so happy. Nothing fancy, just having a wonderful time as family.
By early afternoon it's time to go to our next destination. Another boat ride and this time the waves are calmer. Saying goodbye to the island and I thought to myself this is what memories are made of. My family around me, making memories, just the paradise enjoying the beauty of the island.
Stay tuned for the journey to Calauit Safari. its part of our Coron adventure. There’s more of island hopping to come and our unforgettable moments with my family.
