Happy Wednesday Hivers!
Few years back, I've seen these hidden gems in Valencia thru one of my former colleague's facebook post. She is a resident in Valencia but she spent most of her time in Cebu due to her job. I could not disagree when the locals in Valencia talk about the wonderful hidden gems in their place because I was able to see that thru my former colleagues fb post.
The Day When I Explore the Place
I contacted my friend few days prior to my Valencia trip and asked him if he could be my personal driver, photographer and tour guide. Luckily, he didn't refuse.
We were supposed to visit only 2 tourist spots. The Geothermal Sulfur Vents and the Redrock Hotspring but since there were beautiful spots we spotted along the road going to the 2 famous spots, we stopped by to each spots and had a photo souvenier.
On our way going to the Volcanic Steam or also known as the Geothermal Sulfur Vents I have seen a river and I requested my friend if I could took photo of the river, the locals called it Ukoy River.
The strong current of the water created a therapeutic sound echoed all over the place.
After staying for few minutes, I can feel the cold breeze that slowly wrapped my whole body and that made me regret for not bringing a jacket with me. After enjoying the wonderful scenery, we both agreed to move to another spot.
Few meters before we reached the area where the Geothermal Sulfur Vents is located, I was amazed of the falls that is located beside the road. The jaw-dropping view of the falls made me excite to get closer for a souvenier photo.
I was awed by the beauty of the water that flows on the rocks. It is absolutely beautiful.
After seeing the beauty of beside the road falls, we headed to the Geothermal Sulfur Vents.
At first I felt a little bit scared to visit the place because recently the place had experienced a landslide. I saw on facebook that rocks of any size were spread on the main road.
But my friend told me that the area was already cleared and we will just visit the spot quickly so I agree.
As we arrived, the place smells like a rotten egg. This is located along the main road. It is easy to recognize because of the smoky mountain. I didn't come closer for my safety. I just stood few meters away from the Sulfur Vents. There's a reminder posted by the LGU that it contains a natural toxic gas. If you wanted to get closer to have a souvenier photo just make sure not to excessively inhale the gas and you should be careful because the surrounding is hot.
Staying longer in the area is not safe so we strode immediately going to Sitio Badiang Hanging Bridge after we took photos. This spot is near the Sulfur Vent but not too close.
I walked further until I sighted this enchanting view of the river.
It was truly beautiful. I stayed in the same position for few minutes because I wanted to listen the sounds of the water echoing all over the area. I quitely closed my eyes and took a deep breath. It was truly relaxing.
How could I immediately leave the area if I am surrounded with this picturesque view. We stayed longer because we both liked the scenery. Luckily that time no one was around and it seems like we own the place. It was quite and tranquil.
Behind me is a Geothermal Sulfur Vents. And you can now imagine the distance between the 2 spots.
At around 3pm, we decided to leave the area but with a heavy heart. We headed to the Redrock Hotspring. We passed this bridge with full of red/rusty rocks on the river.
After a while we were able to arrive in the Redrock Hotspring.
The weather the time I went there was gloomy and it was absolutely perfect to plunge into the warm water. My friend told me that because of the rain the water in the hotspring is unclear. But tha's ok because the water is flowing meaning it is clean, only the color has changed.
But before I dip in the hotspring, I roamed around first and took photos.
If you don't know how to swim just stay away from this area because it is 6feet deep.
My friend and I talked random topics while in the hotspring thus we didn't notice the time. As we checked the time, it was already past 6 in the evening and that means we were in the water for almost 3 hours.
We both enjoyed the spout. It was relaxing when the water falls into your back. They call it natural massage.
What I've observed after we took shower was the bad smell on my skin. I told my friend about it and he told me it's because of the sulfur. There was a rusty smell. It was also our fault because we dipped for 3 hours. But it's okay because I had a great time in the hotspring.
We found it perfect as we bath in the pool because the weather was cold and the water is warm.
That was my experienced in the mountainous part in Valencia. They have many hidden gems you must visit that is worth of your time.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
