Thailand maybe is one of my favorite places. I remember the first time I visited Thailand, I immediately felt like I was going back to my hometown. Of course, with a more exciting version (because the Namazu Kingdom is not as interesting as its name).
I took this photo about two years ago. It was early in the year, and I went to Thailand with one of my best friends. We went to two places: Bangkok and Cha Am.
Of the many places we visited, Chocolate Ville in Bangkok was one of the most memorable. I go to Bangkok almost every year, but this is my first time to visit Chocolate Ville.
We departed from our guest house in Siam. At that time we had a fight on the street. I wanted to go to Chocolate Ville by taxi (Grab), but my friend wanted to take a bus (which is cheaper than take a taxy). The problem is, from Siam we have to walk to the bus stop (which is more than 2 kilometers away). Not only that, we also had to wait three hours to get the bus!
The bus we took was very full. We didn't get a seat at all. Unfortunately, the streets in Bangkok that afternoon were jammed. We took the bus at 3pm, and only arrived at Chocolate Ville at 7pm. Walking two kilometers, waiting for a bus three hours, and standing for four hours is not easy and fun at all.
Luckily this place is really pretty. Actually it's a restaurant. But the place is very spacious and there are many photo spots that can be accessed for free. If you just want to take photos, you can enter for free and you don't need buy food.
I think this is a pretty and romantic place for a date. I can imagine, proposing to the person I love in this place. Of course, it will be a very memorable moment.
But not. I'm not proposing to anyone in this place at that time. One of the reasons is I was too tired and wasn't in the mood to do anything else. I just wanted to sit down, take a walk, and enjoy the atmosphere in this place.
In my opinion, this place is designed to be like in Europe. There are several areas that I think are inspired by famous buildings in Europe. For example, "The Conservatory Garden" is (see photo above). But the funny thing is, the car park area at the front actually reminds me of a luxury residential area in the Philippines (but I forget what it's called).
Like I said before, this is a restaurant. After walking around for about an hour, we decided to find a seat and order some food. If I'm not wrong, I took this photo from where we were sitting.
Unfortunately, I forgot to save photos of the food menu at this place. But I'm sure that the price is not cheap (but also not too expensive). Of course, this is not surprising. But I'm really starving at that time, and I think I'm almost dead because of it lol.
After flipping through the menu, we decided to buy a pan of pizza, an orange juice for my friend, and a cup of black coffee for me.
My friend took this photo. It's quiet huge pizza for two person. It tastes good. It's a classic margherita, my favorite pizza.
We just sat back, had a good and warm conversation, and enjoyed the pizza. Finally, we heard the announcement that this place will close soon.
This time I will not repeat the same mistake. I don't want to go back to Siam by bus again. So I hastily ordered Grab. Well, after all, that's too late to take a bus.
This place is fun. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Even though it's crowded, somehow it's very calming. My friend and I had a deep conversation. We talked a lot about life and the past.
For me, this place is quite impressive. One day I will definitely back and bring my partner here.
