Cappadocia continued to delight us with its nature every day. We accidentally came across one part that I really liked and that's where I took one of my favorite photos from Turkey.
I can imagine some great film being shot at this location.
We were quite fascinated by these rock formations and the fact that people used to live there. Look at those "stairs". đ
Actually, all these formations in Cappadocia are formed by the ash and lava after the volcanic eruption a few thousand years ago and they were eroded by the action of wind and water into todayâs unusual shapes.
Someone set up this ladder, but we didn't climb to see what's inside because it wasn't very stable and this place was at a great height.
nice garage
One day we went to Uçhisar, a settlement with a famous castle-mountain which is also the highest point in Cappadocia and can be seen from afar.
Most tourists stay in the town of Göreme where we also stayed and from there I think you can take a bus to Uçhisar, but we decided to take a walk to see and absorb the beauty of the whole area as much as possible. It took us about one hour of walking.
To climb this castle you have to pay around 2 euros for the ticket. The panoramic view from up there is incredible!
There is a Turkish flag on top of the castle.
We decided to wait for the sunset at one high point in Göreme which was a few minutes of walking from our accommodation.
people gathered for the sunset
That's all for today's post, hope you like it. Take care! đ
