Hope all of you enjoyed valentines day. Usually it is not something that I like to make a big deal out of but it is a nice reason to get out and have some quality time with my love. So Monday we took a mini road trip and got lunch and chilled at a castle for a little while before returning back to the resort.
So the morning started with getting a call about a potential job the next weekend so we needed to take and send out some Polaroids.
Before heading out for the day I needed to take care of a few things at work. We are doing a beach bar construction at the resort I needed to check on progress and a few issues.
While we were at the beach side Dzigbordi noticed the local women collecting something from the water line so we went to check out what it was. It looks to be some sort of small sea snail.
We then drove to town to go to the bank and do a couple of other small errands when then got on the main Accra- Cape Coast Road. The next stop was a place on the outskirts of Senya Breku which is a German Beer Garden who was started by a nice German guy living in Ghana.
It was very quiet as it was a Monday afternoon but I love the setup of the place and it is very peaceful. While settling in Dzigbordi and i went around and took some pictures as we usually do.
After that we sat down and took some cold drinks and some really good pizza.
After eating we sat around a bit and enjoyed the breeze and peaceful environment before getting back on the road for about another 15 minutes until we reached the the town of Senya Breku and the castle. This castle was called Fort Good Hope, which was built by the Dutch in 1667. It was originally built to be a gold trading post which was not that profitable and later transitioned into the slave trade in the 1700s.
Today the fort is a rest house with rooms for let with shared bathrooms there is also a modest bar that operates inside.
We did our thing and took some pics around.
We topped things off with sitting on the wall top and having a cold beer.
Bucket my truck did well and got us home safely after that. On the way back we took the most direct route over some rough roads that hugged the coast line.
All pictures were taken on my google Pixel 3x.
