Magnificent Views
A Drone view of the fort from the seaside. That patch of trees on the right is where the canons are!
It has been a while. A very, very long time. But you haven't missed out, I am back and boy do I have so many amazing adventures and views to share with you from during my hiatus. The adventures had not stopped, in fact, they were so numerous, I had to facilitate a little break in my blogging and vlogging. We start back off with a brilliant trip to a Fort on the Northern Coastline of our Caribbean Island of Trinidad and Tobago. Fort Abercromby is what is left of the colonial days of our country when it was still under British rule. The views from this awesome location are always breathtaking but during a sunset, they are taken to another level!
As you can see from the first picture, the topological features of the fort are quite unique. There is a cove of sorts where the water flows in. One can climb down and get close to the waters and that is just what I did to get some amazing long exposure shots! Being in this area is an amazing feeling as you feel and hear the power of the ocean and incoming water as well as a forceful rush of air through the narrow channel, it is quite exhilarating.
On to the Sunset
As the Evening progressed, the sky grew a magnificent red and the the sun set the sky on fire. As a photographer, this was the best time and place to be for some amazing shots!
I managed to get a shot with one of my friends facing the sunset, one of my favorite shots in the whole lot!
The northern coast is literally just mountains all along the coastline and sunsets on this side are even more beautified by them. Cliff faces and their foliage add nice textures and character to shots that the golden hour lighting just possesses and makes for absolute stunning photos.
I really love how the clouds were this almost crimson hue here. In other parts of the country, the sunsets tend to be more yellow or orange but here on the north-coast, the clouds turn this reddish color and the ocean below reflects it with such veracity that I had to just stop taking pictures with my camera and just sit and stare fore the fleeting seconds that were left of this magical sunset. The beauty just demanded it.
This is another view from behind the trees that hid the canons of the fort taken with the drone while ascending. I will upload the drone footage to 3speak soon that was taken during this adventure. All in all seeing this awesome fort at sunset granted me new appreciation for the tourist location. The photos and footage that I took that day were some of the best in my portfolio to date and some of my favorites as well.
