Greetings to all my writer friends, photographers, and people who travel the world to bring their best images to the community. Today, like many of you, I bring you a story to tell, especially with my images.
A few weeks ago, at the zoo in my city of Ciego de Ávila, located in the center of the island of Cuba, a large cultural activity was held for the enjoyment of children. As usual, the day chosen to gladden souls and fill people's faces with smiles is Saturday. I work at this place, and my role is to take many photographs to promote the work that is done there, which is not only with children but also with the animals and with other institutions that use it, such as schools and nursing homes.
On this day I'm telling you about, a group of children of different ages who belong to the Polichinela theater group visited the zoo. This is a company with a lot of prestige within the performing arts in the province, who visit schools and other institutions every day bringing joy to those who enjoy their performances.
The activity began with the youngest children who wore colorful costumes and danced to the rhythm of a rich Cuban son, typical of our culture. This was followed by a unique performance by the group's director, who demonstrated her skill in handling a puppet. This moment was very fun for the youngest children present.
While the puppet moved around the stage, the children took the opportunity to change their clothes, and a few minutes later they formed a magnificent choir where the voices of those talented children sang several songs together.
And to end the cultural day, the older children arrived and danced under the shadows of the columns that were projected above them, providing a special opportunity to take some photographs.
The activity ended at noon just as the sun was shining brightly. We all went to the ice cream shop where we enjoyed ourselves and quenched our thirst after that unforgettable moment. Thanks to everyone for reading, greetings and until the next post.
