On a very cold and #SNOWY 30 NOVEMBER 2023, I explored the stunning city of Östersund. It is located in Jämtland in Northern #SWEDEN 🇸🇪
Let me take you along and show you some of the #HIGHLIGHTS I SAW while #wandering around.
It was sometimes a true challenge to get through all the SNOW or capture certain awesome #architecture and #murals. I had to dodge the piles of meters of snow ❄️

Östersund has some islands across the lake with view points to check out the city from above as that area is a lot higher up as you can see in the following photos.
So let’s do that first.
The lake is vast and seems to go on into a few rivers.
On this hill there are some residential buildings. We peek just over them to see the city across the water. The views are stunning.
A large church does stand out.
Do visit the island in the lake. It has some hidden gems I show you soon. The views towards Östersund are stunning, even in the winter ❄️
After arriving in Östersund I show you the beautiful architecture that just takes my breath away. Look how elegant this building is. 😊

From the other side… my favourite photo of the day 🥰
The little shopping streets have #christmas decoration everywhere… #christmastrees 🎄🎄🎄and #ornaments above the streets.
Some sculptures are almost buried in the snow, like this bike 🚲 on a corner. You can’t even see where the pavement is ☃️❄️
Right in the middle of Östersund and its shopping area I found some stunning #artworks / #murals I just have to include. I show you 3 HIGHLIGHTS of this #streetart today… more to come of course. So stay tuned.
There is a little square, it was surrounded by large buildings that all had artworks on them. The snow was very high piled up on it. As you can see 😎
We see a house painted with a sky.
The view straight ahead gives these cute small shops. Christmas lights ✨✨✨along the edges… if you look closely.
Hubby took the photos of me… trying to capture the artworks with my CAMERA 📸
The snow next to me reached wayyyyy over my head. Hahaha 🤣 ok yes, I am not that tall… I know.

Very tricky to photograph… as the snow is not letting me. I was not adventurous that day to climb up the snow mountain 🏔️ 😂😂
