Touring Lanús - first days in the neighborhood

Hello Pinmapple friends! I hope everyone is feeling great, I'm getting better and I'm looking forward to tell you my first great impressions of a new neighborhood, I moved to Lanús and it's about 26 kilometers from where I was, it's a whole new place and you have to discover it. So much for its museums, its streets, its people, its squares, its life. And for the moment it looks good, come with me to go into this adventure.

¡Hola amigos de Pinmapple! Espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, yo estoy mejorando y veo con ansias de contarles mis primeras grandes impresiones de un nuevo barrio, me mudé a Lanús y está aproximadamente 26 kilómetros de donde estaba, es todo un lugar nuevo y hay que descubrirlo. Tanto por sus museos, sus calles, su gente, sus plazas, su vida. Y por el momento luce bien, acompáñame a adentrarnos en esta aventura.

My first days were a bit confined, I was not in the mood and I was still in pain and carrying a cast. I settled in and put on my best face, I just needed to slow down in a quiet place and be able to do what I like the most, spend my time in Hive, read, write, take pictures, do editing work and rest. Discover a new place and wait patiently for my arm to heal, while I calmed my mind from all the urgencies I had.

Mis primeros días fueron un poco encerrados, no estaba de ánimos y aún me dolía y cargaba con un yeso. Me acomodé y puse mi mejor cara, yo solo necesitaba frenar en un sitio tranquilo y poder hacer lo que más me gusta, pasar mis ratos en Hive, leer, escribir, sacar fotos, hacer trabajos de edición y reposar. Descubrir un lugar nuevo y esperar pacientemente que mi brazo sanara, mientras yo calmaba mi mente de todas las urgencias que tenía.

A few days later I started to go out and get to know the area. The supermarkets, the places to buy ready-made food, and the buses to take me to the places I want to go. I have a bus to go directly to the murga rehearsal and a very nice square nearby. When I went for a walk there I discovered a greengrocer's and bought green apples, my favorite fruit!

Ya a los pocos días comencé a salir y conocer la zona. Los supermercados, los sitios donde comprar comida lista, y los buses que me llevaban a los lugares que quiero ir. Tengo un bus para ir directo al ensayo de la murga y una plaza muy bonita cerca. Cuando fui de paseo por allí descubrí una verdulería y compré manzanas verdes, ¡mi fruta favorita!

Since I don't have a refrigerator, I go out to buy cold drinks as soon as I need them. For example, I treat myself to a beer; it's summer and when I'm in the mood I like to have a cold beer. The square nearby is a very quiet place, a neighborhood of older people who gather there to stroll and chat. Neighborhood friends who sit and watch the evening go by. The night is also friendly, it has a different tone than I know, and I'm also a hidden romantic who enjoys little details that maybe only I see.

Como no tengo heladera, salgo a comprar bebidas frías en cuanto las necesito. Por ejemplo, darme el gusto de tomar una cerveza; es verano y cuando estoy de ánimos me gusta tomar una cerveza bien fría. La plaza que está aquí cerca es un sitio muy tranquilo, un barrio de gente mayor que se reúne allí a pasear y charlar. Amigos de barrio que se sientan a ver la tarde caer. La noche también es amigable, tiene un tono distinto al que conozco, y también soy una romántica escondida que disfruta pequeños detalles que quizás veo solo yo.

As a big screen, it is a huge place to discover. There is everything, like everywhere else in the world, but in general it is a very normal neighborhood. As I am just around the corner from the hospital, the place is busy and there are no problems with schedules or increased danger. The costs in the nearby market are high, so when I go out to shop I decide to walk a few blocks to find better prices and take advantage to learn more and feel safe instead of lost.

Como gran pantallazo, es un enorme lugar que descubrir. Hay de todo, como en todo el mundo, pero en general es un barrio de lo más normal. Como estoy a la vuelta del hospital, el sitio es concurrido y no hay problemas de horarios o de peligro incrementado. Los costos en el mercado que está cerca son altos, entonces cuando salgo a hacer compras ya decido caminar unas cuantas cuadras para encontrar mejores precios y aprovechar para conocer más y sentirme segura en lugar de perdida.

I think it is a feeling that happens to all of us in a move, feeling new, unknown and a little lost, but it is temporary, momentary, it does not cost much once you leave, find where the buses stop or where there is a kiosk, even asking people and neighbors, it is very interesting to venture back to know a new place, when it is in my same city.

Creo que es una sensación que nos pasa a todos en una mudanza, sentirse nuevo, desconocido y un poco perdido, pero es pasajero, momentáneo, no cuesta mucho una vez que se sale, encontrar donde frenan los buses o dónde hay un kiosko, incluso preguntando a la gente y a los vecinos, resulta muy interesante volver a aventurarme a conocer un lugar nuevo, cuando está en mi misma ciudad.

I have some friends who live nearby, this makes it more bearable, they invite me to dinner or to go on a tour, they tell me where I can go for nice walks, or to enjoy some mates; I am even close to the station of Remedios de Escalada and Banfield, then it becomes a triple, quadruple adventure, I have infinite possibilities in a place that was unknown. Everything that is normal for them is new and charming for me. The murals, the train stations, the stores, the downtown areas, and the iconic decorations of the various streets.

Tengo algunos amigos que viven por aquí cerca, esto lo hace más llevadero, me invitan a cenar o a hacer algún recorrido, me dicen a donde puedo ir por paseos bonitos, o a disfrutar unos mates; incluso estoy cerca de la estación de Remedios de Escalada y Banfield, entonces lo vuelve una aventura triple, cuádruple, tengo infinitas posibilidades en un sitio que era desconocido. Todo lo que es normal para ellos, es nuevo y encantador para mí. Los murales, las estaciones de tren, los comercios, las zonas céntricas, y las decoraciones icónicas de las distintas calles.

Squares, churches, and a summer that reminds me of childhood, very hot, few people in the streets and everyone trying to cope with the afternoon waiting for the cool of the night. I was informed of two parks that I want to go soon, two museums, and looking at the map I found a third museum. All this in less than a month! I find myself excited, better in hand and eager to go out and see even more. Little by little I will show you what I discover and I thank you for joining me in this adventure, which is a journey and a change of life.

Plazas, iglesias, y un verano que me hace recordar a la infancia, mucho calor, poca gente en las calles y todos tratando de sobrellevar la tarde esperando el fresco de la noche. Fui informada de dos parques que quiero ir pronto, dos museos, y mirando el mapa encontré un tercer museo. Todo esto en menos de un mes! Me encuentro entusiasmada, mejor de la mano y con ganas de salir y conocer aún más. Poco a poco les iré mostrando lo que descubra y les agradezco por acompañarme en esta aventura, que es un viaje y es un cambio de vida.
