Nostalgia hits me once again as I page through my travel photos; places that are within easy reach but places I cannot visit right now.
CARIBBEAN ESTATES
One of our favourite getaways is at Caribbean Estates, a lush tropical paradise south of Port Edward on the lower South Coast of Kwazulu Natal in South Africa.
Leisurely days spent on the beach with the warm waters of the Indian Ocean beckoning swimmers and fishermen alike.
UMTAMVUNA RIVER BRIDGE
A boardwalk through a tropical forest takes one to the lagoon where the Umtamvuna bridge comes into view. This river used to be the border between South Africa and the old Transkei, which now is part of the Eastern Cape in South Africa.
Birdlife, quiet fishing spots and watching the river cruises going up and down and the sound of the ocean makes this the perfect place to recharge!
ORIBI GORGE SUSPENSION BRIDGE - LAKE ELAND GAME RESERVE
Breathtaking views and adrenaline rush are the order of the day at Oribi Gorge which starts at Lake Eland Game Reserve.
Walking suspension bridges, doing the Wild Swing with an abyss some 165 metres below or abseiling down a 110 metres cliff face next to Lehr Waterfall certainly ain't for the fainthearted!
The scenery is magnificent with view sites such as the Hanging Rock with an abyss of 330 metres!
These are wonderful memories and my entry to 's #MyPictureDay, hope you enjoyed it!
Caribbean Estates
Wonderful tranquil eco-estate with the Indian Ocean along the Eastern boundary and the Umtamvuna River forming the southern boundary. Lush tropical indigenous plants, an abundance of birdlife and well-appointed spacious Caribbean style villas.
