Hello Hivers today I want to bring you to one beach resort located just in my city, Cagayan de Oro. It is actually about 10-15 minutes ride from our home and 5 minutes ride from the highway.
BONBON BEACH RESORT
As you can see in my title, this is a simple beach resort but definitely a good place to relax and unwind with family and friends.
Unlike the other beach resorts I shared before, Bonbon beach doesn't have white sand but I still love to go there because it's not so crowded and this part of the beach where we went is clean compared to the other parts.
FAMILY OUTING
This family outing happened before covid, I just can't imagine how it would look like people swimming with their mask on LOL. Actually going to the beach was prohibited during the first few weeks of the pandemic, but this time I learn that people are already allowed to go to the beach. Maybe social distancing will be observed.
HOPE TO BE BACK SOON
Today I already missed going there, perhaps in a few days, we will be able to visit this simple and small beach and have fun. And I think people need it. Staying at home for me is not a very good idea, I mean to get away from getting the virus its best to stay at home, but people get bored and become weak having no exercise at all.
Anyway, going back to Bonbon beach, it is located in Barangay Bonbon in the city of Cagayan de Oro, and you can bring your whole clan with very minimal expenses. Yes, it's cheap compared to other beach resorts around.
YOU CAN BRING YOUR OWN FOOD
It has no restaurants so you can bring your own food without paying for corkage, so people do bring Lechon and other foods, so lesser expenses than ordering all your food in a restaurant.
Although if you don't have food you can buy some at the nearby stores.
VERY AFFORDABLE COTTAGES
Their cottages are also simple and yes affordable. It's not that nice but what is important is you will get a shade from the heat of the sun. They only have about 20 to 30 cottages sometimes become full that they could not accommodate more customers.
For me, that would be okay because it keeps the place from overcrowding unlike in most of the beach resorts around.
They also have a spacious parking area enough to cater a number of customers so there's no need to worry where to park.
SHOULD I RECOMMEND BONBON BEACH?
Honestly, I would not recommend visitors of Cagayan de Oro to go there, because there are other beach resorts in the area that are better when it comes to facilities and amenities.
But for us who are living here, it's okay to spend time at Bonbon beach once in a while. A few hours of swimming could be a good exercise already especially during the early morning.
And of course, having fun with the whole family is a good way to unwind and to forget things (problems, obligations, work, school, etc) for a moment.
VERY ACCESSIBLE
This is the favorite place also for some joggers and bikers who live in the area who wants to have a swim in the morning. And even us, before the covid19 we regularly go there but it's been 4 months since our last visit in this place so I think it's about time to plan for our next visit to this small, simple but wonderful place.
Lastly just want to share my clicks on blue skies during that time, I find it so beautiful.
