Hello friend, today I will introduce you to a small village in the province of Fermo in the southern part of the Marche region, here time seems to have stopped in the Middle Ages, a small town of about 550 inhabitants awarded the title of "one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. 'Italy"...
This is Moresco
It was about 15 or 20 years that I had not visited this wonderful village so I decide to get on board my car to visit it, I drive along the A14 motorway and then take the Pedaso exit and enter the hills of the Marche for about 11 kilometers. the road traveled already offers beautiful views towards the sea and the hills up to the mountains, up to Moresco.
Already from afar the town catches the eye ...
I focus on driving: Can't wait to get there !!
Here I am arriving in the village and parking at the beginning of the village so that I can enjoy it on foot in all its beauty.
Parking near the church located at the entrance to the town, a church dedicated to Saints Lorenzo and Nicolò

I continue a few meters and immediately here is the majestic heptagonal tower ... wowww how wonderful ... to give you the idea it is about 25 meters high.
Yes, the peculiarity of this tower is to have seven sides, which is definitely not common to find, the tower dates back to the end of the fourteenth century and appears to be built on the basis of an even older tower as the foundations still show today ...

I have the feeling that we can get even closer to the tower but for now I continue to discover the rest of the village.
Continuing the walk I continue to see the wonderful hidden corners of the town step by step, what a beauty !!!
Here everything smells of ancient times even if at the same time everything is renovated and well maintained by the owners of the houses.
I see a beautiful entrance arch, I certainly think it is the famous clock tower, entrance towards the main square but for now I continue straight on, continuing the walk outside the walls of the ancient town.
A walk characterized by surprising corners of the village and small panoramic balconies from which you can admire the beautiful hills of the area with their typical curved streets until you see the blue of the sea not far away ... what peace and what relaxation !!!
There are many things that make you imagine what happened in the past centuries among those streets and there are many things that make you understand how daily life in these places still flows quiet and genuine, like this school bus parked at the gates of the village with lots of panorama behind him ... I imagine him wandering among the narrow streets of the village and the surrounding hamlets "gathering" the children and youngsters who wait outside their houses of ancient origin to accompany them to school ... it is a good feeling when what see it makes you dream !!!
I go down to admire a first small church dedicated to Santa Sofia (a place also used as a mini theater) and, continuing the steep descent, the small church of San Lorenzo.

Now I go back because the desire to visit the square and the part of the historic center inside the walls intrigues me too much !!
So that, passing under the arch of the clock tower, I find myself in the beautiful "Castello Square" ... what a wonder
Very pretty and characteristic square, a small jewel that also houses the town hall and is surrounded by a beautiful open gallery where you can relax even eating if you want, a open gallery already beautiful in itself as architecture and also enriched by frescoes.

In the squares and streets of this town, as in many other towns, especially in the hinterland, you will notice the town's mascots around: cats.
You will notice them wandering undisturbed from house to house where the locals prepare small bowls of food and water for them.
After having feasted my eyes in this enchanting square, I head towards the oldest central streets of the village with the intention of visiting this further part, I am curious to see how the village is preserved and, as I imagined, this part is also very well kept .
The alleys are narrow, in some cars they barely manage
to pass, in some I do not think they can pass.
After a few minutes of a pleasant wandering in these medieval streets I return to the heptagonal tower at the entrance of the town to try to see it even more closely, the tower can be visited internally and once you have climbed over 200 steps you will be able to enjoy a view that is not possible tell.
I must admit that despite being small, the town is well served as regards the information service, drinking water dispensers and public toilets in order to better accommodate visitors.
Ok, now I'm back near my car, the tour in Moresco is over for today but ... I'm still thinking about a structure that I saw from the town lookout, a small building with a dome and where it is, so that I leave with my car keeping my eyes open to understand what it was and where it was.
After about 2 minutes by car the mystery is solved, it is a small and ancient church called "Madonna della Salute", located in a green area where if you want it would also be nice to have a nice picnic.
And from the back of it I see for the last time the village of Moresco from afar but I already know it will be a "goodbye"
For today I greet you my friend, obviously I suggest you, as always, to visit the town in person, in this case this small town can be visited in a few hours of stay.
All the photos were taken by me, they are my property and all the contents come from my mind and from the emotions I felt while visiting the place I tell you about😁
See you next time😉
