Polignano a Mare, Lama Monachile beach
Hi friends, are you okay? 😀
I apologize for my absence but this period I was out of my region, precisely I was in the Puglia region 500 kilometers south of the Marche region where I live.
Having visited beautiful places I decided to share them with you.
Today I will introduce you to the northern area of the beautiful Polignano a Mare in the province of Bari.
We are located a few kilometers south of the city of Bari, Polignano a Mare overlooks the Adriatic Sea and is famous for its pebble beaches and balconies.
I'll take you to the beautiful beach called "Lama Monachile" and to the northern area dedicated to the great Italian singer-songwriter Domenico Modugno, author of the famous song "Nel blue dipinto di blue".
Walking in the direction of the historic center, once you arrive in front of the ancient entrance arch, continue on the left passing in front of very nice places that offer typical dishes of the Puglia region and you immediately arrive at a bridge where cars can also pass and from here the view is enchanting, you can see the beautiful beach with its clear waters from above.
So I stop for a while to enjoy the view among the many tourists who also fill the streets and alleys of the town during the Christmas period (like throughout the year), tourism in this place is mainly summer but present all year round considering the uniqueness of the place.
Once you cross the bridge, go straight on to get to the square where there is a statue dedicated to the famous singer-songwriter who was born right in Polignano a mare and became a real star in Italy but also in the world in the 50s and 60s, from here begins the northern promenade called precisely "Lungomare Domenico Modugno".
From behind the statue there is a beautiful staircase that descends towards the cliff where people go to spend moments of relaxation with a beautiful panorama, here engaged couples love to take street food and share moments together enjoying the spectacle of the sea .
How wonderful!! From here you can see the clear blue waters of the Adriatic Sea and the old village built on the rock above the sea, what a beauty!!
I go up the stairs and go back to take the walk that passes through excellent restaurants especially fish to get to the beach and the sea, this place is truly unique and attracts tourists from all over the world, from here both the view of the sea is beautiful that of the country seen from below.
This is just a part of the city, in the next few days I will let you discover the rest of the city and its beautiful old town…
See you soon my friend 😀
All the photos were taken by me and the story is the result of my personal experience.
