I lived in Moalboal, Cebu when my partner and I started living together almost ten years ago and for a long time, I haven't toured all the beautiful attractions here in our area. It's because we're not rich enough just to wander around and honestly, I'm not really that kind of wanderer growing up because the family who raises me don't like us to wander anywhere unlike that we have gone for a valid reason. But as time went on and I get matured and know the hive, I came to think that the lack of money is not an obstacle to travelling to beautiful places, especially if It is only in your area and you only need some gas and a few pesos for a snack.
Today I would like to share with you a beautiful and relaxing attraction that I and my family have been to lately just located in my province area. Not only it's a beautiful and relaxing place there's no entrance for locals and tourists.
Busay Spring and Cave
Busay Spring and Cave is located at barangay Busay, Moalboal in the south part of Cebu, Philippines. Its cave has stalactites and stalagmites inside and the spring underground is a source of potable water supply for the town.
To Busay Spring and Cave we used a motorcycle. From us, we went to the last barangay you can pass before you can reach the next town of Badian. There we entered an alley that they call Balabagon, the road is small but if you are from the city and want to go here, it's okay to use a car because it's passable.
The road to get there is okay and you need to be careful because you are on a mountain and there are no barriers on the sides of the road. When you arrive in barangay Busay you will see the signage "This way to Busay Cave". The freeway when you get it is rocky and when you come to the front some bamboo has fallen and are blocked the passageway because of the storm before but people can still pass it and you can also take your motorbike just in case but my advice is just don't take it because the road is really difficult when motorized.
It took 8 minutes walking from the main road going down and when we arrived at the place, the rock formations welcomed us and the only cottage that we are called by the caretaker to list down our names in the logbook. Then after that, the fun begins.
First, I took some photos while my kids are enjoying the lower part of the spring looked over by my husband and then after that, I decided to dip the kids in the caves water. The place was spectacular with the combination of spring and cave, the water was clear and cold too just essentially perfect for this hot season in the Philippines. You can also drink the water but don't drink from where you swim you can get water from those big pipes which are attached to the spring to supply down to most of the town.
We only bathed there for about an hour because a lot of people come to enjoy the place as well. On the way back, I also took pictures that really calmed our feelings, especially city dwellers who want to unwind, so whoever wants to go there, the entrance is really free, all you have to do is bring a snack and eat because there are no shops nearby here.
