Malaysia is a unique place. Multicultural and international. In Sarawak, there are many beautiful temples. I've traveled to a lot of places and I've not seen temples like the ones here in Miri city. These are some of the three temples that you can visit when you come to Miri for a short visit.
Guan Ying temple
This is a new temple that was just completed last year.
This is a video that I recorded a while ago of this temple.
The colors of this temple are vibrant. You can see it from far away. Dragons are usually the guardians of the temples. This temple is the temple of Guan Yin. In Chinese belive, the god of mercy.
The main temple complex
Nicely built. Lots of people donated to build this beautiful golden themed temple.
Tua Peh Kong temple
This temple has been here for more than a century. At the moment, renovation work is being done to restore the paint. Expansion work is also being done to expand its compounds.
Opposite of this temple
The view from the second story of the temple.
A lot of work is being put into maintaining this temple.
The hardest part of building the temple is the slightly curved edges of the roof.
The expanded compound
Lots of flooring tiles were placed to enhance the aesthetics of the temple.
Tien Shan Zong Min Tong temple
This temple was left abandoned for more than 3 decades. However, restoration is taking place to rebuild this temple. It was rumoured to be haunted but that reputation is being changed.
Deep inside the temple complex is a room that I did not want to enter while I was here. Lots of structures of deities that have been left abandoned.
A drone shot of this place
Recently, a lot of changes have been made to this place. The main signboard area was demolished and the abandoned deities were removed by a skilled Buddhist medium. No one would dare do that.
Hope you enjoy reading this post. Have a great day.
