El bosque de chocolate
Inesperadamente hace unos meses me llegó la llamada de un gran amigo, en esa llamada me comentó que estaba necesitando mi ayuda para que lo ayudase a tomar fotografías en el estreno de un corto que el hizo, este corto se estreno en Diciembre del año pasado, en el lugar del cual les quiero hablar hoy, "El bosque de chocolate".
Este lugar esta ubicado en la Marroquína - Yaracuy, Venezuela. Es una pequeña reserva de cacao que tiene muchos años en la comunidad de la Marroquína y actualmente se esta incentivando de gran forma su cuidado y promoción para aumentar la producción de cacao allí, el año pasado a mi amigo Alfredo, junto a un grupo de artistas se le dio la tarea de pintar y darle vida a través del arte del muralismo a todo el alrededor de esta Casona que funciona como centro de encuentro y aprendizaje sobre el cacao en este lugar.
Alfredo junto al grupo de artistas no solo pintó y prácticamente revivió el lugar que estaba bastante abandonado y descuidado, si no que también hizo un corto de como fue este proceso. Al final de este post les dejaré este corto para que lo vean y si es de su agrado vayan a dejar su me gusta en el canal de mi amigo en Youtube.
The chocolate forest
Unexpectedly a few months ago I got the call from a great friend, in that call he told me that I was needing my help to help him take pictures at the premiere of a short that he made, this short premieres in December last year, where I want to talk to them today, "The Chocolate Forest".
This place is located in the Moroccan - Yaracuy, Venezuela. It is a small reserve of cocoa that has many years in the community of Moroccan and is currently greatly incentivized its care and promotion to increase cocoa production there, last year to my friend Alfredo, together with a group of artists was given the task of painting and bringing it to life through the art of muralism throughout this Casona that functions as a meeting and learning center on cocoa in this place.
Alfredo and the group of artists not only painted and practically revived the place that was quite abandoned and neglected, but also made a short of how this process was. Yo por supuesto le dije que si podía ayudarlo y fui ese día del estreno a tomar fotos a todo lo que ocurría con una cámara que el me prestó, aunque las fotos que verán hoy las hice con mi celular en algunos momentos donde podía, ya que el material que tomé todavía lo tiene el y no pude usarlo para este post.
Pero aun así las fotos quedaron bastante bien, así que quise compartir como fue mi experiencia este día con ustedes, y como capturé todos estos momentos usando mi teléfono celular a lo largo del día.
Me pareció muy bonito e interesante que los artistas no solo se limitaron a pintar la casona si no que también dejaron plasmados otros murales en algunas casas, y paredes que antes se encontraban en mal estado, dándole así un toque mucho mas bonito y llamativo a esta pequeña comunidad.
Of course, I told him that if I could help him and I went that opening day to take pictures of everything that happened with a camera that he lent me, although the photos that he will see today I made them with my cell phone at some times where I could, since the material I took still has it and I could not use it for this post.
But still the photos looked pretty good, so I wanted to share what my experience was like this day, and how I captured all these moments using my cell phone.
I found it very nice and interesting that the artists not only painted the main house, but also left other murals in some houses, and walls that were previously in poor condition, thus giving a much more beautiful and striking touch to this small community.
Ya en el lugar dentro de la casona tenían colocado un proyector donde se presentaba cada cierto tiempo, el corto de mi amigo Alfredo a las personas que llegaban desde el centro de la ciudad, aunque no solo el corto era lo mas importante de este día, antes de cada función de estreno, se hacía un recorrido por todo el lugar donde niños de la comunidad iban mostrando y narrando como era el proceso de siembra, cuidado y cosecha del cacao, además se repartían dulces y chocolates hechos a base del cacao producido allí, lo que le daba un interés mas grande a todo el evento.
Already in the place inside the house I had placed a projector where the short of my friend Alfredo was presented from time to time to the people who came from the center of the city, although not only the short was the most important thing of this day, before each premiere function, a tour was made throughout the place where the children of the community were showing and narrating what the planting process was , the care and harvesting of cocoa, in addition sweets and chocolates made with cocoa produced there were distributed, which gave greater interest to the whole event.
Fue un día lleno de bastante aprendizaje sobre el cacao, y sobre como es tan importante culturalmente para estas personas, incluso fueron personas de medios de comunicación regionales a realizar entrevistas a los artistas que se encargaron de hacer estos murales, a las personas de la comunidad y por supuesto a mi amigo Alfredo.
It was a day full of a lot of learning about cocoa, and about how it's so culturally important to these people, it was even people from the regional media to conduct interviews with the artists who were in charge of making these murals, the people of the community and of course my friend Alfredo.
Mientras tanto yo me encargaba de recopilar todo lo posible en fotografías, incluso pude hacer un pequeño corto con mi celular, pero ese lo mostraré en cuanto lo termine de editar.
Ahora les dejaré una pequeña recopilación de fotos que tomé a los murales.
In the meantime I was in charge of taking pictures as much as possible, I even managed to make a small short with my cell phone, but I will show it as soon as I finish editing it.

¿Que cámara utilicé?
Utilicé mi teléfono celular, un Huawei y6 2019 con una cámara de 13 megapíxeles de resolución, utilicé el modo manual para configurar mejor los parámetros de ISO, exposición, balance de blancos y velocidad de obturación para cada fotografía.
What camera did I use?
I used my cell phone, a Huawei Y6 2019 with a 13 megapixel resolution camera, I used manual mode to better configure ISO parameters, exposure, white balance and shutter speed for each photograph.
