kürzlich war ich mal wieder auf einem Konzert und auf einem ganz besonderen noch dazu. ACDC gab sich die Ehre und da ich die Jungs noch nie live gesehen habe, ließ ich mir die Karte auch einiges kosten. Wer weiß, bei einem Alter von über 70 teilweise fast 80 Jahren war dies vermutlich meine letzte Gelegenheit die Atrocker einmal zu erleben.
Und es war sozusagen eine Offenbarung. Nach der langen und beschwerlichen Anreise, für die der Hockenheim Ring ja durchaus bekannt ist musst eich mich erstmal durch die 100.000 Fans zu einem noch freien Fleckchen durchkämpfen. Auf der rechten Seite des Geländes war es so voll, dass die Menschen teilweise schon Panik bekamen und nur noch extrem dicht an dicht stehen konnten. Nachdem ich mich aber nach ganz links hinten durchgeschlagen hatte, hatte ich rundherum ca. 1,50 Meter Platz um mich und war zufrieden.
Da das Gelände leicht zur Bühne hin abfällt war die Sicht ausgezeichnet und noch dazu hatte ich eine große Leinwand direkt in der Umgebung. Alles perfekt. Da lief auch schon die Vorgruppe The Pretty Reckless. Gegründet hat sich die Gruppe im Jahr 2009 um Frontröhre Taylor Momsen, welche zuvor als Schauspielerin mehr oder weniger bekannt war — unter anderem in der US-Serie ‘Gossip Girl’. Aber ich muss sagen die Formation versteht es wirklich, hart zu rocken. Ein guter Auftritt, wenn sich mir der Sinn darin auch nicht erschlossen hat, warum das Mädel in Unterwäsche auftreten musste. Nun gut, den ganzen gepiercten und volltätowierten Jungs um mich rum schien auch dies sehr zu gefallen.
Aber schon hier merkte ich, dass dies vermutlich das lauteste Konzert ever werden würde. Ich bin da eigentlich nicht zimperlich aber als dann ACDC anfingen zu spielen, musste ich mir Ohrstöpsel aus einem Taschentuch basteln, sonst hätte ich sicher einen Tinitus bekommen.
ACDC war dann wirklich der hammer und eines der besten Konzerte auf denen ich jemals war, vergleichbar mit Metallica. Die Jungs haben 2 Stunden ohne Pause die Bühne gerockt und ich habe noch nie eine Band gesehen, die augenscheinlich so viel Spaß bei dem hatte was sie da auf der Bühne tat.

Nach einem fantastischen Abschlussfeuerwerk musste ich mir dann den Weg durch tausende Fans bahnen zurück zum Parkplatz in 2 Kilometer Entfernung. Es ging nur Schrittweise voran und in einer Unterführung ging minutenlang gar nichts. Ich fühlte mich irgendwie an die Loveparade Katastrophe erinnert, was meine Stimmung nicht gerade hob. Da hätte einiges passieren können. Ist es aber zum Glück nicht. Im Nachgang zum Konzert gab es aber reihenweise Beschwerden über die chaotischen Zustände. War auch für mich vermutlich mein letzter Besuch am Hockenheim Ring. Nach fast 2 Stunden hatte ich es dann geschafft und konnte wieder abreisen. Trotz allem ein unvergesslicher Abend mit ACDC.

I recently went to a concert again and a very special one at that. ACDC did the honors and since I've never seen the guys live, I paid a lot for the ticket. Who knows, at over 70, sometimes almost 80 years old, this was probably my last chance to see the A-rockers.
And it was a revelation, so to speak. After the long and arduous journey, for which the Hockenheim Ring is well known, I first had to fight my way through the 100,000 fans to a free spot. On the right side of the grounds it was so full that some people were panicking and could only stand extremely close together. But after I made my way to the very left back, I had about 1.50 meters of space around me and was happy.
Since the grounds slope slightly towards the stage, the view was excellent and I also had a large screen right next to it. Everything was perfect. The opening act, The Pretty Reckless, was already playing. The group was founded in 2009 by frontwoman Taylor Momsen, who was previously more or less well-known as an actress — including in the US series ‘Gossip Girl’. But I have to say the band really knows how to rock hard. A good performance, even if I didn’t understand why the girl had to appear in her underwear. Well, all the pierced and tattooed guys around me seemed to really like that too.
But even then I noticed that this would probably be the loudest concert ever. I’m not really squeamish about that, but when ACDC started playing, I had to make earplugs out of a handkerchief, otherwise I would have gotten tinnitus.
ACDC was really awesome and one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to, comparable to Metallica. The guys rocked the stage for 2 hours without a break and I have never seen a band that obviously had so much fun doing what they were doing on stage.

After a fantastic final fireworks display I had to make my way through thousands of fans back to the parking lot 2 kilometers away. It only progressed gradually and in an underpass nothing was happening for minutes. I was somehow reminded of the Love Parade disaster, which didn't exactly lift my spirits. A lot could have happened there. But luckily it didn't. After the concert, however, there were a number of complaints about the chaotic conditions. It was probably my last visit to the Hockenheim Ring. After almost 2 hours, I had finally made it and was able to leave. Despite everything, it was an unforgettable evening with ACDC.
