Hello Haveyoubeenhere community! Here I am telling you about another hike I did on the 18th December in the hills of Romagna, the region of Italy where I'm from.
Ciao community di Haveyoubeenhere! Eccomi qui a raccontarci di un altro trekking che ho effettuato il 18 Dicembre sulle colline Romagnole, la regione italiana di cui sono originaria.
This time I was with a friend of mine, and although we knew the area quite well, we had never entered the woods between the villages of Formignano and Tessello.
Formignano and Tessello are situated on two hills separated by a valley. The hills on which they are situated "look out" on each other, so there is a passage to go from one hill to the other by going down and up the valley.
Questa volta ero insieme a un mio amico, e nonostante conoscessimo piuttosto bene la zona, non ci eravamo mai addentrati nei boschi che stanno tra il paese di Formignano e il paese di Tessello.
Formignano e Tessello sono situati su due colline separate da una valle. Le colline su cui sono situati si "guardano", per cui esiste un passaggio per andare da una collina all'altra scendendo e risalendo la valle.
First, we drove to Formignano, the idea being to make a loop and return to the point where we had parked.
Per prima cosa, ci siamo recati con la macchina a Formignano, l'idea era quella di fare un giro ad anello e ritornare nel punto in cui avevamo parcheggiato.
From here, we planned our walking tour, which is roughly represented by the picture below.

The route has a length of 6 km with a difference in altitude of about 300 m. In total we spent about 3 hours walking very quietly.
Da qui, abbiamo pianificato il nostro giro a piedi, che all'incirca è rappresenta dall'immagine sottostante.

Il percorso ha una lunghezza di 6 km con un dislivello di circa 300 m. In totale abbiamo impiegato circa 3 ore passeggiando molto tranquillamente.

Ed ecco alcune foto che ho fatto durante la camminata.
The sun did not illuminate the lowest point of the valley, and here the path was all frozen.
Il sole non illuminava il punto più in basso della vallata, e qui il percorso era tutto ghiacciato.
When we arrived in Tessello, we stopped in this meadow in the sun to eat and warm up a bit.
Arrivati a Tessello, abbiamo sostato in questo prato al sole per mangiare e scaldarci un po'.
From here we set off again towards Formignano, and to do so we travelled along a truly fascinating ridge.
Da qui siamo ripartiti alla volta di Formignano, e per farlo abbiamo percorso un crinale davvero affascinante.
We also encountered a frozen pond.
Abbiamo incontrato anche un laghetto ghiacciato.
And some wild boar and roe deer tracks.
E alcune impronte di cinghiale e capriolo.
At the beginning of the 20th century, there were numerous sulphur mines in Formignano, and to commemorate this, iron wagons have been placed as sculptures scattered around the small village.
Ad inizio del XX secolo, a Formignano c'erano numerose cave di zolfo, e per ricordare ciò, sono state posti dei vagoni in ferro come sculture sparse per il piccolo paese.
