Ces tours, situées sur des points d'observation bien sélectionnés ont la particularité de toujours pouvoir apercevoir la tour suivante. Cela avait un rôle important à l'époque. En effet, en cas d'invasion, leur rôle était de pouvoir avertir la tour suivante par un feu allumé à son sommet. La tour suivante faisait alors de même, et ainsi de suite. Cela permettait à l'ensemble de l'île d'être avertie de l'invasion et de pouvoir riposter rapidement. |
The coastline of Sardinia cannot leave indifferent the number of towers that border the coasts.
