This is a tomb, a mausoleum built by Bega Begun and dedicated to her late husband, Emperor Humayun. The construction of the monument began in 1565 and took 7 years.
To grób, mauzoleum zbudowane przez Bega Begun i poświęcone zmarłemu mężowi, cesarzowi Humayunaowi. Budowa pomnika rozpoczęła się w 1565 roku i trwała 7 lat.
The designer of this unusual mausoleum was an architect from Afghanistan, a certain Miraka Mirzy Ghiyasa. Despite the perturbations and the lack of funds, the facility is currently in good condition and has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Projektantem tego niezwykłego mauzoleum był architekt z Afganistanu, niejaki Miraka Mirzy Ghiyasa. Mimo perturbacji i braku funduszy obiekt obecnie jest w dobrym stanie i został wpisany na na Listę Światowego Dziedzictwa UNESCO.
Humayun's tomb is an extremely interesting combination of Turkish, Persian and Indian architecture. This is the first so-called garden tomb made of red sandstone and built in India. The Persian structure of this monument is 47 meters high.

Of course, the tomb inside the mausoleum is just a dummy, because the actual resting place of the emperor is in a safe place, away from the ubiquitous tourists, which is the norm in India due to respect for the dead.

The garden around the tomb consists of four parts and is often called Charbagh. There you can walk freely, take photos or shoot movies. And this is a place made for that, full of magnificent facades, windows, intricate works of art and remarkable architecture.

The tomb includes several other interesting buildings such as Nila Guband, Arab Sarai and Bu Halima. Inside, there are also the tombs of other Mughal kings such as Bega Begum, Hamida Banu Begum, Isa Khan and Dara Shikoh. The entire complex consists of over 150 tombs. It is said that this gigantic monument with Islamic accents and symmetrical gardens was the inspiration for the design of the Taj Mahal in Agra.
W skład grobowca wchodzi kilka innych ciekawych budynków jak Nila Guband, Arab Sarai i Bu Halima. Wewnątrz, znajdują się również grobowce innych króli Mughal jak na przykład Bega Begum, Hamida Banu Begum, Isa Khan i Dara Shikoh. Cały kompleks to ponad 150 grobowców. Krążą opinie, że ten gigantyczny pomnik z akcentami islamskimi i symetrycznymi ogrodami był inspiracją do zaprojektowania Tadż Mahal w Agrze.
