Why I Needed This Escape
Last last year, on my cousins birthday. A friend suggested Lusno Falls in Ronda, Cebu, she said it is a peaceful, beautiful, peaceful waterfall that promised everything we were looking for specifically the nature, quiet, and refreshment. Without hesitation my cousin and aunt loved the place so, I packed my bag and set off for this little known paradise.
The Drive That Got Me Excited
My uncle, was the one who drove the car. Then, the two-hour drive to Ronda was exhausting in the morning because of the traffic at the city, but when we got to the south's province, surprisingly it's relaxing. I must say that Cebu’s countryside was a treat to the eyes, the green fields, small towns, and the occasional view of the ocean kept me company. By the time we reached Ronda town, I already felt lighter. I can breathe and feel the fresh air that makes me alive.
Asking the locals for directions was a breeze. They were incredibly warm and even shared tips about the trail. When I heard their enthusiasm it made me even more excited to see the falls for myself.
Walking Into the Unknown
Actually, for me, the trail leading to Lusno Falls was an adventure in itself. It wasn’t a long hike, but it was enough to feel like I was entering another world. The path was surrounded by trees, and the sound of birds added to the calming vibe. You can also see a field of corn crops. The colors yellow and green crops were really calming to see. Also, the rocky and uneven parts made it fun yet challenging.
With every step I take, the sound of rushing water grew louder. I felt like the falls were calling me, urging me to keep going. To see, what our friend is really describing to us, like how angelic it is.
That "Wow" Moment
When we finally arrived at Lusno Falls, I stood there, speechless. The water cascading down into a clear bluish-green pool was mesmerizing. The rocks and plants around it looked untouched, like a scene from a nature documentary.
I remember thinking, “How is this place not more famous?” It felt like I had discovered a hidden treasure, and for a moment, I just stood there, soaking it all in. I am thankful to our friend that she suggested this place.
Taking the Plunge
I can say that the water was really cold haha, but it was exactly what I needed. I took time on the water for a moment, feeling the gentle current and letting the waterfall splash over me like a natural massage. It was pure bliss.
For those who don’t want to swim, there are plenty of spots to sit, dip your feet, and enjoy the refreshing atmosphere, because that's my favorite thing that I did. The peace of the place is enough to make you forget all your worries.
Wandering and Wondering
After I took time with the falls, I spent some time exploring the area. There were smaller streams and unique rock formations to check out. The quietness of the place made it feel like I was far away from the rest of the world.
I also had the chance to talk to some locals. They told me about how Lusno Falls is an important water source for their community. It felt good to know that the falls aren’t just beautiful but, it's also valuable to the people who live nearby.
Lessons From the Trip
Here are a few things I learned during my visit that I can share with you.
- Always wear good shoes; the trail can be tricky.
- Pack enough water and snacks since there aren’t any stores nearby.
- A dry bag for gadgets is a lifesaver.
- Visit early in the day for cooler weather and fewer people.
- Respect the place, please take your trash with you and leave it as beautiful as you found it.
Why Lusno Falls Stole My Heart
As I visited the place it gave me exactly what I needed, the peace, quiet, and a connection to nature. Unlike crowded tourist spots, it felt personal, like it was waiting just for me.
What I loved most was how untouched it felt. It wasn’t just about the beauty of the falls; it was the feeling of being completely present in the moment, away from distractions.
Will I Be Back? Absolutely!
As I left the falls, I knew this wouldn’t be my last visit. I couldn’t stop thinking about how peaceful and beautiful it was. The experience stayed with me long after I returned to the city.
If you’re looking for a place to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature, I highly recommend Lusno Falls in Ronda, Cebu. It’s more than just a destination, it’s a sanctuary for anyone in need of a break. Unsa pay gi huwat nimo? Tara na! (What are you waiting for? Let's go!)
I can’t wait to return, hopefully with friends, to share this piece of paradise. If you’re ever in Cebu, don’t miss out on this magical spot!
