The second campus of Rajshahi University, known as the Narkelbaria Campus, is primarily used for the Faculty of Agriculture. It is located a bit away from the main campus in Rajshahi city, and it used to be the center for agricultural research activities of the university. Although some activities are still ongoing, student presence is quite limited due to the distance from the main campus.
People from the nearby areas and those who have leased land from the campus often cultivate crops and rear livestock on the arable lands of the campus.
This campus is surrounded by natural beauty and has farms, laboratories, and other necessary infrastructure for research purposes. Even today, many students pursue higher education in agriculture here and receive hands-on field training.
This was the academic building for faculty of Agriculture .
The local people raise livestock that roam freely across the campus fields.
These are called "Muittha" . Traditional fuel sticks made from cow dung, commonly used in rural Bangladesh as an eco-friendly cooking fuel.
The people living around this campus are very kind, which is evident in their words and behavior.
For someone like me who deeply loves the countryside, the joy of seeing crops in the fertile fields is unmatched.
The last & happy picture with my signature pose ! Before bidding farewell, I expanded a page of my memories by visiting the second campus once more.
The distance from Rajshahi city to the Narkelbaria Campus is approximately 8 to 10 kilometers. It is located about one kilometer east of the bypass on the Rajshahi-Naogaon highway, in the Kharkhari area.
From the city, you can reach the Kharkhari intersection by CNG auto-rickshaw, rickshaw, or local bus. From there, you can proceed to the Narkelbaria Campus.
