The city of Sabang and the city of Banda Aceh are surrounded by many marine tourism objects. The sea in Banda Aceh City is very beautiful and to travel here we don't need to spend a lot of money, because starting from food, lodging and many tourist attractions here are free without any money coming in. However, it is not only marine tourism that is a mainstay in this city, but its historical places are also very worthy to be visited by local and foreign tourists.
One of the historical places worth visiting is the Japanese fort Cultural Heritage which is located at Ujong Kareung, Sukajaya, Sabang City, Aceh. There is no charge to enter this place. And in this Japanese fort, it is also very suitable for relaxing, besides we can see the relics of the Japanese occupation in Sabang City.
Information obtained from the plaque around the Japanese Fort in Sabang City, that the Japanese Fort Anoi Itam was one of the forts used by the Japanese Army to store bullets and weapons when it was still in a state of world war 2. place to defend against enemies. In front of this Japanese fort there is a cannon which has a length of about 3 meters. This fort is also called Anoi Itam Fort because it is located in Anoi Itam District.
To be able to get to this fort, visitors have to climb about 200 stairs that have been painted with colorful colors, after finishing climbing the stairs we will be greeted with underground rooms that used to store bullets and are now not being cared for anymore, and There is not only one, there are 2 or three rooms that have the same function, namely the basement where the bullets are stored.
Not only that, walking down the halls of the fort, we will also see lush trees and exotic alleys that can be used to take pictures. The left and right sides of this hallway are made of stone which is still solid until now. The floor has been paved block so that visitors are not exposed to soil that contaminates shoes when it rains.
The main center of the heritage of the Japanese fort is located on a small hill, and when we are on top of the fort and see the view from above, we will be faced with a very good view, the blue sea is clean, and the garden around the fort shows its charm. his own. However, it is really a pity, this nature reserve is not maintained by the manager, so it seems dirty and neglected, I even conclude that the people here really don't appreciate the existing nature reserve. Even though the tourism potential in this Japanese fort is very good, the historical value, natural scenery and sea are one and cool the eyes.
However, these shortcomings are covered by the many plus values that exist in this fort, so this place is very worthy for you to visit.
