Although the Tsunami that occurred in the Province of Nangroe Aceh Darussalam has passed on December 26, 2004 ago, but it has been 17 years on December 26, 2021, there are still many wounds, bitter memories, traumas that are difficult to treat, and there are still many places that are evidence of the existence of a Tsunami. In Aceh, it is not just a bedtime tale or a political game and a trial of technology from a super power that has become a discourse, even to this day there are still people who believe in it. Apart from that all the Aceh tsunami events have changed the face of Aceh as a whole before and until now.
And from the tsunami incident, there are many monuments in the city of Banda Aceh which accidentally stood and became historical monuments that were visited by many foreign tourists and local tourists while visiting the city of Banda Aceh. One of these monuments is the Lampulo Ship Monument. This monument is the same as the PLTD Apung monument which was swept away by the tsunami waves, the difference is that the Lampulo Ship Monument is a nearby fishing boat that was dragged by the waves until it landed on the roofs of houses of residents who are still inhabited, and this ship was dragged by the waves for up to 5 km while the floating PLTD is large ship belonging to a diesel power plant.
The Lampulo ship monument is located in Kuta Alam District, Banda Aceh City. With the allowed visit schedule, Monday to Thursday, it is divided into two schedules, namely the morning schedule from 08.00 WIB to 12.00 WIB and the afternoon schedule is opened again at 14.00 WIB to 18.00 WIB. Friday morning schedule is open at 08.00 WIB to 11.00 WIB while the afternoon schedule is opened at 14.00 WIB to 18.00 WIB. And for Saturday and Sunday, this monument is open the same as Monday to Thursday.
When visiting the Lampulo ship monument, there is actually nothing too special, we will only be brought to the memories of the past, a large fishing boat that landed perfectly in one of the residents' houses causing damage, then after the Tsunami the house was legally bought by the local government and make the house that was hit by the Lampulo ship into a monument and made one of the mainstay tourist attractions to this day. And in this monument you can see the history, and photos of the Tsunami there. Not only that, you can see the houses of people from high altitudes, and around this Lampulo monument we can also buy souvenirs typical of the city of Banda Aceh.
That was a trip that we could share with all of Hive's friends, always healthy for us to stay happy, greetings from us Tomi and Maya from Binjai City Indonesia, keep supporting and follow our next journey exploring other beautiful places in Banda Aceh City, Indonesia.
