Picnic Grove Tagaytay
When was the last time you had a picnic with the family with a great view? Come with us today to see one of the most popular spots here in Tagaytay City, Philippines. A perfect place to enjoy a picnic with the family, relax and enjoy the view.
Let's go to Picnic Grove Tagaytay.
This place is a 13-hectare property that has an eco-trail, picnic cottages and recreation area. This is managed by the city government and the department of tourism. During the pandemic, it has closed down for more than a year but is now open again to the public. Although health protocols are strictly observed.
Entrance Fee:
50 pesos per person or around $1.00 USD
Parking Fee:
35 pesos or $0.67 USD
They have renovated this place and looks very much different from the last time that we visited. It has been operating since 1980 and I still recall our visits here when I was very small.
Upon entry going to the picnic spots, you will see souvenir stalls all lined up. Here you will find all sorts of souvenirs like toys, native decorations, t-shirts, bracelets and keychains.
Activities
One of the new activities here is the Sky Rider. A sort of zipline ride that will cost you 200 pesos or $3.83 USD per ride.
If you love these type of activities you may want to give this ride a try. Although I'm just not sure if that one ride is worth the fee.
They also have a Ferris Wheel here that will cost your 150 pesos or $2.87 USD per ride.
Up on the viewing deck, you will have a great view of the popular Taal Volcano. We didn't come up here as it was almost noon and was too hot already.
The Picnic Area
There are many cottages and tables to choose from to enjoy your picnic with the family. Prices range from 100 to 500 pesos or $1.91 to $9.57 USD. If you are on a budget, you could also just bring a picnic blanket and find a nice flat quiet spot underneath a tree.
You will also find vendors all over the place selling pork crackling and other snacks.
The Eco Trail
This is a long trail that goes around the area. It also includes a hanging bridge but during this time parts of the trail are closed off due to renovation. We hiked on this trail years ago and it was fun. I am hoping to revisit the trail once the renovations are complete.
The place can be romantic too as you will find a lot of sweet couples here. Just you and your loved one surrounded by nature with an amazing view.
Horse Back Riding
Tagaytay City is also known for horses as there is a lot here. This is the place where I first rode a horse when I was like 5 or 6 years old I think. I remember how I cried if I did not get a horse ride. I think I was a little bit of a brat back then but hey I was 6 and kids throw a lot of tantrums 😆.
Here you could get your photo taken riding a horse for a fee of 20 pesos or $0.38 USD. Very popular with the kids.
This is the main horseback riding area and will cost you 300 pesos per hour and that is around $5.74 USD. If you come near this area you will be flocked by horse owners offering horse rides.
If you don't know how to ride a horse, the owner will ride with you to make sure you will be safe.
That is it for our tour in Picnic Grove Tagaytay.
