Panglao island where coral reefs hugging the shore are teeming with rainbow hues of tropical fish, golden white sand and the island's unforgettable experiences lie in the heart of the Philippines in Bohol. The only thing that comes to my mind about my recent visit at the Panglao Beach, Panglao Island, Philippines is magical. It was as if there was just so much to see, do and experience.
On my arrival Panglao island I could not believe with eyes my ears and my heart, What a beauty around me. There was a day where it was sunny and the sun shone bright from its clean white sand beach, to its crystal clear turquoise waters. It was good soothing background noise: the gentle waves lapping against the shore kind of thing and it put me in a relaxed mood almost as soon as I'd started on it. I twenty runs I dwelt could not hold this tropical haven.
So when I checked in my beachfront accommodation I didn’t waste much time getting me to Panglao Beach. As I stepped on to the sand it was soft, especially powdery and you just floated through it like it was air, but the sand stayed. The palm trees swung and there was the bright colours of beach umbrellas on the beach. I sucked in salty sea air and my worries flew out the window.
The water, however, had its own irresistible draw and yet my disrobing took place, as I skimped into my swimsuit and made for shore. At first the water was refreshingly cool and when I waded in I was amazed at how clear it was. Swimming a little further out I marvelled at the underwater world beneath me. I saw some starfish buried in the sand and colourful fish swimming all around. This is a surreal experience when we are feeling so connected to nature, in a beautiful place like that.
After my swim I went and explored the area around by myself. To have a different look at the island, I rented a kayak to paddle by the coast. I glided above the water drooling over the views of the cliffs and hidden coves. I found a secluded place and I stopped there to have a moment to myself to listen to the sound of the gentle waves and see the clouds painted the sky lazily.
I’d spent an adventure packed morning and had worked up quite an appetite. After that I went to the beachfront restaurant and had some food there. To order fresh seafood grilled to perfection with classic mango salad. The flavours were vibrant and delicious, they went perfectly with the tropical setting. While eating I was thanking my lucky stars to be able to taste such delectable fare.
The day was getting late and yet I did have to see the world famous Panglao sunset. I sat myself down at the beach grabbed myself a seat and found a comfy little spot and went and got myself a cold drink. Being the sunset the sun sunk beneath the horizon and the sky stained with brighter orange, pink and purple. I couldn’t believe just how breathtaking this was and just how much peace I felt and how thankful I was for all the beauty around me.
Panglao beach was just the perfect place for me to spend my day - Adventure, Relaxation and beauty of the highest order. Swimming in crystal clear waters, tasting in food in amazing local spice, every second told me how magical this place was. My memories were carried back with me when I left the beach and I longed to return. Enchanting charm it is indeed and truly a slice of heaven on earth.
