This year I came to Calabria in summer as well, as usually I just come for Christmas and some other occasions that may happen.
This year we decided to spend some time more here, as we are both very busy with our stuffs during the rest of the year, so we decided to go for a more relaxing holiday if compared to the usual on-the-road vacation that we made in Spain last year and in Croatia the year before.
In these days me and Mary are often going to the seaside. Well, I am taking some time to work and study as well, but the beaches here are so nice!
Just in another couple of places I have seen such a transparent water: Premantura (Croatia) and Sardinia.
The water is sooooo transparent and with a very nice blue color because the sand here is made of small rocky/glassy stones. There are no sands and no sewers/campings in the area making this beach very nice!
This exact place is called “Saline” that in Italian means the place where salt is extracted from water.
Anyway, my resistance to the sun is quite low and even if I can get really tanned during summer, I prefer playing, reading or else rather than just playing the lizard under the sun.
So here I was playing with rackets together with Mary’s sister. We managed to reach 18 bouce together and we launched a challenge to Mary that the couple performing the best results would have a slush offered from the third one.
And here, after some burnts from the first day, I was studying Yoga slides as in December I will likely have the first exam to attend.
This area is great and it’s call “Il Veliero” meaning “The Sailing Ship”, that is a café on behind the beach. So Mary could stay hours and hours under the sun and I was relaxing with my Americano Coffee under the shadow of a big tree, studying the program of the second year of the Yoga course.
And of course, the traditional cro
issants cannot be missed!
Here me and Mary, cheering with our respective brioches. A strawberry-croissant and a “Brioche with Tuppo” that I am going to explain better soon!
The view is quite amazing, as you can see from the colors of the water and over the horizon line, you can see the smoking Etna a local volcano that is still active and every some year creates some pain in the a++ to locals with a lot of smoke making airplanes to change airport or deviate the trajectory to land OR also some lava dropping from lateral pits.
